Also, I am only recommending gold standard whey from ON. The performance whey is garbage, and the hydrolyzed whey is not only unnecessary and overly expensive, but tastes awful.

The good thing about gold standard is the flavor sample packs they sell, so you can try before you buy. The only flavors of gold I like are the extreme milk chocolate and the toffe caramel fudge. But it's not a meal replacement. It's just a supplement, so it doesn't have to be amazing. That's why I'm more concerned with what's in it than absolute taste. I don't recommend stuff that tastes like ass, though. |

Clean the sand out of your vagina and lift some weights! You come off as someone looking for a 'easy way' to do this. This shit is not easy, if it was everyone would be strong and ripped. |
One hour into the carb load and I feel like I'm going to yak. All these carbs just don't taste good.

I have the "delicious strawberry" flavor of Gold Standard whey and that shit is amazing.

Day 5:
We'll see how the refeed treats me in the morning. If I did it right, there shouldn't be a lot of bloating. Just a feeling of fullness. But, it's the first week, so I'm bound to have made some mistakes. The workout wasn't nearly as hard as people said it was going to be, even though I stopped short of failure on everything, as instructed. Tomorrow is the Heavy workout day, and I expect to hit all my previous weights, and continue on the progression rate I was scheduled for before I started the diet and new workouts. I haz spreadsheetz to track and log. http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...ffd3caf261.jpg Workout: Hack Squat - 2 sets, 10 reps Leg curl - 2 sets, 10 reps Leg Extension - 2 sets, 10 reps Seated Leg curl - 2 sets, 8 reps BB Bench - 2 sets, 12, 10 reps Seated Cable Row - 2 sets, 12 reps Incline BB Bench - 2 sets, 10, 8 reps Pulldown - 2 sets, 12 reps Lateral raise - 2 sets, 12 reps Bicep Curls - 2 sets, 12, 8 reps Nutrition: Iso-Sensation + Dextrose shake ON Whey + Dextrose shake 2 cinnamon raisin bagels w/ fat free cream cheese 2 oranges Fat free pancakes + sugar free syrup + strawberry preserves 140 after dinner pillow mints 21 oz Boulevard Wheat beer (yummy) Can of Fat Free Pringles Sour Cream n Onion Ultra Thin Pizza Crust + Light Smart tomato sauce + 1 cup of various fat free cheeses + chicken breast strips 3/4 cake of Angel Food cake + 10 oz strawberries + fat free Cool Whip Minute Rice + some butter Targets: 1170g carbs, 50g fat, 167g protein, 5800 cals Actual: 1106 carbs, 49g fat, 215 protein, 5752 cals Closeenough.jpg |
da **** is up with all that cake?
y u no oreos? Quote:
|
Angel food cake is fat free. Oreos have too much fat. The idea behind this carb load is to minimize the fat intake while eating just carbs. Had to get those macros in. After dinner mints were awesome.
|
Down to 184lbs after 2.5 weeks of cutting calories/carbs. The no bloat effect of limiting carbs feels great. Had to go a notch tighter on the weight lifting belt. Lifts feel a bit heavier but timing my carb ups the night before deads/squat to limit my strength loss on those lifts. Carbing up twice a week. Once cleanly and once not so clean. Pizza and beer tonight!
I would post a progress pic but I am afraid of the "too fat" comment from Omaha. :( |

Day 6:
Slept a long time today. Maybe longer than I should have, but **** it -- I was tired. So, the carb load ended about 12 hours before I actually went to work out. I guess that's okay, because that gave me 36 hours between the last workout and today's heavy lifting. I don't think I bloated on the carb load, or if I did, it was pretty minimal. I'm just happy that I was still able to progress on my lifts. I had been doing a 5x5 schedule where I was hitting new 5 rep maxes every other week, instead of weekly. Well, that changed today, as I bumped them ALL up on the same day. And I added weight from where they were previously, and was able to hit them all. So, that's good. I tried to fill the pictures with more levity, because I was too tired to smile. http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...EF1F71C0CD.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...EF25E1B124.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...EF2C979F59.jpg Workout: RFESS - 5RM, 90% 5RM, 80% 5RM Bench - 5RM, 90% 5RM, 80% 5RM Deadlift - 5RM, 90% 5RM, 80% 5RM Military Press - 5RM, 90% 5RM, 80% 5RM BB Row - 5RM x 3 sets Nutrition: Captain Crunchberries + skim milk Dextrose + whey shake Homemade ultra thin crust pizza with fat free cheese and chicken breast strips 2 oranges Trutein shake Totals: 1711 cals, 249g carbs, 152g protein, 15g fat |

How possible is it to lose 10 lbs in 16 days?
I know losing weight fast isn't healthy, but I want to try to do it in as healthy way as possible. I think I'll go to the gym twice a day and burn around 400 calories each time I go (so 800 a day). Any workouts to do to lose weight fast? Sprints? |
You could do 16-day fast.

Unless you are trying to make weight for some specific reason you should not worry about weight. Appearance is much more accurate way to determine progress. |
Quote:
But seriously, I'm probably gonna fast. Only 2 meals a day probably. |
I wasn't joking.
A 16-day fast is your best bet. |
Quote:
Eat less than you burn. That's about it. In 16 days, it's easily doable if you have enough willpower to exercise a lot and keep the calories low. |

What workouts? Also, what foods (besides chicken) are best to eat on this said diet? |

Lean meat and eggs, fresh veggies/fruit. Stay away from pop/juice, basically any drink that is carb/sugar dense. Exercise, preferably with a good amount of resistance training. |

There is no other definition. |

If you are going to try fasting I would recommend intermittent fasting. |
Quote:
Easiest way to do that is fasting. |

Quote:

Intermittent fasting would be my suggestion. Don't eat all day and start your feeding at say 5 pm for dinner. Eat maybe 1,200-1,500 calories in a 5 hour window from 5-10 looking at lean meats, fats and very limited carbs. Would be your best bet for losing quickly if that is your main goal. Throw in exercises sometime during your fasted state as well. Preferably closer to dinner so you can eat at a reasonable time afterwards.

Exercise is just going to make you hungry.
Just don't eat for 16 days. Guarantee you lose 10 lbs. |
I think I'm just going to cut my calories down significantly by eating/drinking the following:
Note: Only 2 meals a day -water -diet soda (on occasion) -coffee..I've read drinking a cup before you exercise helps a lot -green tea -chicken -eggs -turkey -veggies -yogurt -almonds..more protein than carbs -fresh fruit exercises will include: -sprints -repetition weight lifting for cardio -jogging I will try to do two-a-day's as often as possible. Needless to say a lot of icyhot, ibuprofen, sleep and willpower will be needed. |
Also, I think my secret weapon will be applesauce.
Apple's make you feel full. A half cup of applesauce is only 90 calories. |
You're not going to lose 10 lbs in 16 days eating that much.
Waste of time. |
