Sounds like they're now discussing the possibility of moving this thing to Monday.

Also this just went up at the weather channel. The guy explains what .5" of ice would do to the stadium. His line at the end is a bit telling as well, "I won't be surprised if they shake the scheduling up over this thing in the next day or so." https://weather.com/forecast/regiona...piter-jan-2017 |

The weather channel is entertainment now. I would suggest you look elsewhere if you want actual weather.

Now they're calling for that shit up here. Not as much up to. 25 of an inch of ice and then a couple of inches of snow on top of it.

But He says there will still be slicks spots in the morning from isolated cells before the temps can get above freezing. |

At the station, leave in an hour. Starting to get some ice on untreated areas here in STL.

The national weather service, which is about the only weather I pay attention to, hasn't budged on their forecast. If anything, it's gotten worse in the past few days.

I think it's pretty clear at this point that we are going to get enough ice to make driving a bit sketchy and hazardous at the least to the point that you will need to drive slowly and carefully and probably not leave the house if you don't need to. Whether or not we get enough so that this leads to broken trees, power outages, and completely undrivable conditions seems to be the main question.

They posted on FB that they are backing off on the amounts for KC: Freezing rain/drizzle has developed across southern Missouri this morning and should expand north throughout the day. Hazardous travel conditions are possible for areas south of Highway 36 today, particularly during the evening commute. While we have trended ice totals back slightly through Sunday, the same impacts previously mentioned remain possible as a little ice goes a long way. We will provide updates here throughout the weekend to ensure you're kept up to date on the latest as the event unfolds. |
Icemehgerrdon in Oklahoma has so far been a huge flop...
As expected with all of these doomsday forcasts... |
Thousands of Chiefs fans are going to be pissed they gave up their tickets if this turns into a non-event.

It was 72 degrees here Wednesday and has been warm all week its going to take some time for the ground to get cold enough to ice over and it doesn't look to be cold long enough for that to happen. I hope the same goes for KC. |

The Weather Channel named this storm not the NWS. Evidently NWS has been trying to get The Weather Channel so stop doing that shit.

The risk isn't the issue. It's about the NFL not accommodating the people who are shelling out absurd amounts of money for their product. |

Not Gonna Happen |
A Missouri farmer dies and goes to hell.
After being there a couple days the Devil asks the farmer how he likes the heat? The farmer says to the Devil, "You don't understand, Devil. I'm from Missouri. Haven't you ever been to Missouri in June?" The Devil gets pissed and cranks up the heat the next day and asks the farmer what he thought about the heat now? The farmer said "You don't get it, Devil. I'm from Missouri . Haven't you ever been to Missouri in July?" The Devil gets even more pissed and cranks the heat up some more. He goes back to the farmer and says "now what do you think of this heat?" The farmer says "You sure are stupid. I told you, I'm from Missouri. Haven't you ever been to Missouri in August?" Now the Devil is irate and figures he will fix the farmer but good. So the Devil turns the AC up as high as it will go. Frost icicles are hanging all over the place, it's so cold. The Devil asks the farmer, "well, now what do you think of this cold?" The farmer says, "HOLY SHIT! The Chiefs won the Super Bowl!" |
