Oddly enough, that's different from the Disney+ shows, which have left all kinds of nuggets for the future of the MCU. WandaVision showed us the Wanda that will emerge in Dr. Strange's movie, as well as Monica Rambeau, Agatha (who will get her own spinoff) and (maybe) White Vision. Falcon/WS transitioned Falcon into the new Cap and laid an Easter egg on John Walker. Loki, as Bowser just said, illustrated the multiverse and introduced Kang the Conquerer for Ant Man 3. And now we have Hawk-Eye, who at the very least is setting us up for Kate Bishop, going forward, giving us Echo (who is getting a spin-off), and who knows what else.

Hooooly smokes. Yelena finally showed up in "Hawkeye."

He barely struggled to beat her off, too -- if you can even say he did. And John Walker hasn't even entered the conversation yet. There's not really a thing Hawkeye can do against Walker.

not crazy about this theory, but it’s being theorized that Clint’s wife Laura is actually the Mockingbird. Mockingbird is a Marvel hero (already depicted by a different actress across two seasons in Agents of SHIELD) who has top notch fighting skills and superhero strength, as well as expert marksmanship and sometimes enhanced healing.

This may make sense in some regards. Hawkeye has been shown to be outmatched by Echo. And while he may be able to tactically outsmart her, he has no such advantage against Yelena. Those two alone are more than a match for Clint/Kate. And John Walker is the trump card that neither Clint or Kate can match, and he hasn’t even entered the equation yet. Add in the relative manpower of the mafia and Laura becoming Mockingbird would even out the score (but not entirely, unless they amp up her powers; Walker is going to be too much for all three of them).

But I don’t like the theory and I hope it’s wrong for multiple reasons:

* it reinforces the trope of the man going off to war for years while an arguably more powerful woman stays home and cares for the kids
* it literally begs the question why she hasn’t been more active helping Clint in the past
* it makes the MCU too small
* a lot of her past dialogue doesn’t sound like a superspy—it sounds like a normal person

I hope they resist the urge to do this. She’s played by a great actress but please keep her in her lane.

They've already made it pretty clear that she's a retired agent of some kind, I don't think it would be that egregious to also reveal her codename was Mockingbird. Like the difference between her being a retired agent, and her being a retired agent called Mockingbird isn't actually that much. It's basically an easter egg. It might be different if they give her actual superpowers, but that seems unlikely.

Yelena's "Russian" accent is damn near too much for me. Not sure why it bothers me so much, but it's so cringy that it takes me out of the moment.

The Maya character is just a one dimensional angry twat.

Yelena is so pleasing to my eyes, I don't notice all the bad acting, mostly.

I was really hoping she'd lose the accent to try and blend in like ScraJo. :(

She doesn't want to blend in, it seems to be. She wants to be invisible.
