-King's on Noland (hamburger joint with juke box at every table)
-Jim Gs in Raytown (late 80s- best burgers in the city, not debatable)

-Stephenson's ('nuff said)
-Medlins Colonial Steakhouse (damn good restaurant)
a little farther out:
-la Mediteranee' on the Plaza- best salad in the world
-EBT's - a little snooty, but great food
-The Golden Ox

Not exactly a restaurant of yesteryear, yet.

But in keeping with the tenor of the discussion, Iron Barley is moving out of the city into rural JeffCo. I'm sure it will still be awesome, but now it's a bit of a slog to go.

Since this thread has been bumped, the proprietor of Iron Barley passed on earlier in the year.

From something you ate, or was it because of your other "preferences"?

I’m bummed Fuddruckers went out of business. You could order a decent patty and load the **** up at the toppings bar.

Still exists in Texas and has a better burger than Five Guys and the like. Will cook it medium and medium-rare.

It's on the NE corner. This place was on the SE corner. And it wasn't strip mall.
