These could be famous last words.
Cain doesn't bug me as much as Yost indicating Moose AND Hoz would sit tomorrow.

I didn't realize that games in July are worth less than games in other months.
I guess those games won in April must really be meaningless.

Hootie 07-25-2015 02:27 PM

I didn't realize sitting Moose and Hosmer (against a lefty, nonetheless) equated to an automatic loss

Hootie 07-25-2015 02:29 PM

Moose .677 OPS against lefties (.879 against righties)
Hosmer .708 OPS against lefties (.889 against righties)

Ned schedules them to have a day off amidst a torrid stretch against a lefty.

Better to maintain a good lead now and be able to rest guys in September then to rest them now and be forced to play them late in order to win the division.

Of course it isn't. But it doesn't help your chances of winning.

Replacing Hoz might.

Hootie 07-25-2015 02:33 PM

again

against lefties, at the plate, Moose and Hosmer are replacement level bats. I'm sure they'll both be available late to PH / play the field if necessary.

162 games. Not every game is game 7 of the World ****ing Series.

Exactly. At some point (it may as well be now) you have to mix things up and get guys rested. We aren't on a winning streak and it's still july so it may as well be now. Lord knows we haven't had much luck vs Houston anyway.

Days off can be as much about resting mentally as physically. I work in an office. I never need to take a vacation because I can't handle the physical toll the job takes on me. It's still nice to have a day off just to decompress every so often.

I think he might be trolling, though. I haven't figured it out. He's either really ****ing stupid or a really good troll. I lean towards the former but I'm starting to think the latter may be a possibility.

Why must it only be one?

At this point it's needs #1 and #2 at least. Things shape up quite well if they were to acquire a true #1 and a middling #3 / 4. Nobody thought Frasor would be worth a squat but he had some nice contributions last year.

Get Cueto, and a flyer on Haren, IMO.

The 2 worst parts in our lineup have actually been hitting. Hell, Rios might benefit long term from a shortened season so long as he's truly fully healed.
