****. Lynn 1 batter too late.

Motte throwing crazy heat then Lynn would have been better but we will see.

It's a tough one, but LaRussa played the odds.

Yeah I'm not going off the numbers there though. Hamilton can look pretty out of sync up there against pure gas. Rhodes is going to lob that 80mph off speed stuff up there and Hamilton can hit that, as we just saw.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-20-2011 08:54 PM

I don't understand Lynn over Dotel here. Dotel K's a shitload of batters, too.

what did you expect there? A strikeout?

Something goes wrong and it's always on LaRussa. You all crack me up.

have motte strike out hamilton with the heat. load the bases and play for the double play was the move.

KC_Connection 10-20-2011 08:55 PM

Not that Lynn doesn't get Ks, but Dotel has a 11.57 K/9 vs. RHBs this season.

Hootie 10-20-2011 08:56 PM

if it makes anyone feel better I bet Feliz blows the game if the Rangers take a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the 9th

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-20-2011 08:56 PM

Just walk him and set up the DP.

I'm sure LaRussa has all of that information right in front of him...

Gotta trust LaRussa over ChiefsPlanet.com

You can't assume Motte would have gotten him out. At least Rhodes did.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-20-2011 08:57 PM

Sonofa****ing bitch.

Frazod 10-20-2011 08:58 PM

Had to happen eventually. I just wish it had happened earlier.

chefsos 10-20-2011 08:58 PM

That missed cutoff just cost you guys the lead run.

But I guess you knew that already.

We're going to blindly trust LaRussa, why?

Dotel should have been the call if you need a K vs. a RHB.

Hootie 10-20-2011 08:58 PM

I'm telling you, I have a gut feeling Feliz gives up at least 1 run.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-20-2011 08:59 PM

I just don't understand those moves. You need K's there. Why take out your best strikeout pitcher, going to a lefty who K's no one, and then replace that pitcher with a righty who isn't your best strikeout option, or option in general?

That's just nonsensical.

no

but runs happen in baseball

Cardinals fans blame LaRussa every time anything goes wrong...

it's his fault Motte wasn't superhuman for once tonight!

I don't know man. I think you need someone on the mound who can make bats miss in those situations. Especially in a sac fly situation... most balls put in play will likely score a run, even if you get outs. Motte at least throws pure gas. And it wasn't like he was lost, he gave up a bloop and then had two runners in scoring position due to a poor defensive play.

Mr_Tomahawk 10-20-2011 09:00 PM

Motte + Castle.

Disagree. Cards just used the heart of their lineup in the 8th. Obviously anything can happen.

You can argue that Motte should have just stayed in the entire inning, yeah. He's been dominating for the entire postseason and maybe deserved a longer leash.

I live in Dallas, TX 5 miles away from Arlington...the rules of bandwagoning don't apply for me to root for the Rangers if I want to...

in order to not be a shitty Yankees bandwagon fake fan you either have to root for the team you rooted for growing up (unless it's the Yankees) or root for the team in your area...

sorry brah

The blame will be on the error if they lose this game.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-20-2011 09:01 PM

Hootie, you don't know what you're talking about here. La Russa has been masterful this PS, but you have to go to strikeout pitchers in that situation, not soft-tossing rat shit Arthur Rhodes, your worst reliever, and Lynn over Dotel, who has been nails.

Buck 10-20-2011 09:02 PM

Do you have anyone to run for Molina if he gets on?

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-20-2011 09:03 PM

You have to pinch run here. Too important.

KC_Connection 10-20-2011 09:03 PM

Feliz' major weakness is his BBs. There's one. But will it matter?

I'm sure TLR will call for the bunt.

Perhaps you're right, but I'm sorry I'm very used to Cardinals fans scapegoating LaRussa anytime anything goes wrong.

It's ridiculous.

Pretty sure he has earned the right not to be questioned for his bullpen use in this postseason until further notice.

This is just stupid. Punto has had good ABs and you have a wild pitcher. Let him swing away.

There's the real Nick Punto.

kcpasco 10-20-2011 09:05 PM

Man, I had a bad bad feeling about this inning going in. They were just overdue to plate some runs.

KC_Connection 10-20-2011 09:12 PM

Texas takes back homefield advantage with the win. Definitely a very interesting series now.

Still think it was odd that TLR didn't go with Dotel, though.

La Russa has been in great in the playoffs this season. But he was too damn loyal to Franklin.

I'd say about 1/3 right now. Pitching matchups don't look good for us.
