Wow! 58!!! And from a grinder like Furyk. You'd think it would be streaker player.

Damn, 58 is nice. It was on a par 70, but still, nice.

Those were the days we paid a lot less per stroke than the show-offs.

That's obviously a special round of golf, but it's especially funny that it's Furyk, because that guy always seems to go low on Sunday when he's out of contention to grab a T5 or T10. If he's in the mix in a big tournament, no one chokes like him.

That's some pretty good golf. So your opponent shot a 65? Darn the luck! Way back when there was City Match Play after the Medal Play tournament I knocked out the 1st seed only to get spanked by a guy shooting 66 the next match. It was fun knocking out the Medal Play Champ in 19 holes when I was only 19 years old though. He seemed pissed. Some guy named Powell.

If you were going to pick one guy to shoot 12 under when he was 16 shots back, you'd pick Jim Furyk.

I'd prolly cheer somebody, anybody, having a round like that.

I bought a full set of golf clubs on a garage sale site for $50 today. I had to go to a shitty part of town and sit in a gas station parking lot to wait for the guy, which is always fun getting to think about how someone might murder or rob you.

Figures this set gives me a chance to practice and not have to rent clubs when I go to the range like I did on Friday.

I'm not saying it's not worth cheering for (although I'd root strongly against Dustin Johnson and a few other assholes in such conditions). I just find it funny that it happened on a Sunday when he was way out of contention. That's classic Furyk.
