The reason like Frankie Hammond, Freddie Williams, and Kyle Williams are doing good is because our secondary ****ing sucks.

If berry can lock down the single high position, then we just need an in the box safety. this position is not nearly as difficult.. we could bring Pollard back

I just finished reading that article as well.

Pretty much lays to rest the idea that it's just a punishment.

Except that all through OTA's right up to when he got the DUI Smith was working with the 1st team.

That is a fact.

He was our best CB last year as well which is also an inarguable fact.

Lack of depth is the only thing saving him according to the reports coming out. But like you said- he will probably make the team unless he continues to have a bad camp.

As bad as this place overreacts to the first week of TC its surprising that anyone here survived the 2012 season.

Overreaction Planet is in full force this off season.

I doubt that. I likely said "Shut the **** up Billay nobody cares what you think."

The demotion actually occurred last spring after Smith was cited for driving under the influence in downtown Kansas City, though Chiefs coach Andy Reid said last week that Smith’s status was “a football thing.”

Smith, who joined the Chiefs as an unrestricted free agent last season, doesn’t think his demotion was punishment for the off-field incident.

“Not at all,” he said. “Ron Parker definitely deserves to get those reps.

“This is a competitive unit, and I think he’s just got to keep competing,” said defensive coordinator Bob Sutton. “He is not far away. He has obviously played a lot of football, played very well for us. We just thought coming out of the spring, the way it shook down that the other guys were a little in front.

“So we went that way as we started camp. He is in the hunt, and he has just got to keep working.”

Sean Smith, Andy Reid and Bob Sutton seem to disagree with you.

Smith wasn't a good CB last year, so it's not surprising to see the Chiefs trying to replace him.

I haven't seen enough of Parker to make a judgement call on him specifically. Right now, IMO, our secondary is shaky at best until proven otherwise.

He wasn't bad at all either. He allowed the least number of catches, yards, and TDs out of all out CBs. At worst he was average last year.

I always believe everything coaches say. They are known for being very open and up front about what they really think and what is actually going on.

We will see week 1.

Do you really think they would say "Yeah, he's being punished for the DUI thing" ?

I mean, you'd have to think it's a huge coincidence that he started practicing with the 2s literally right after the DUI.

It very could've started as a punishment, no doubt. But clearly, the Chiefs don't see a reason to throw him back into the starting lineup.

And do i think it's possible that the coaches and the player himself aren't lying?

Yes, i do.
