Ben Johnson + Caleb Williams should be gold.

Look for a breakout Caleb year.

Yeah, he pretty much lucked into a team he didn't want in the first place

He should be thanking his lucky stars, if Johnson can field a decent OL the weapons are in place such that Williams will have no excuses to not take a giant leap forward

Johnson is 100% legit IMO, he will protect Williams with a steady run heavy approach while also getting creative on deep shots and trickeration... if Williams can forget his rookie year and start putting it together, Chicago could come roaring back IMO

Johnson got exposed in the playoffs imo. Too much of a trick merchant and when those tricks didn't work he had nothing. And he won't have that great o-line and running duo to help his scheme either which was a huge element of his success. Plus Caleb's problems were not just coach related. He struggled to read defenses and wasn't good enough in the pocket even when he had time to throw. It's gonna be interesting to see how they get on next season but I'm not expecting any miracles tbh. Especially with the schedule they have.

I can't imagine why he wasn't good at reading defenses when his OC had no interest in studying film with him.

The guy didn't have a bad rookie season, he'll probably end up being good if Ben Johnson ends up being a good HC.

Good pros put in the study themselves and don't need baby sitting.

That is the most ridiculous shit I've ever heard, Mahomes sat a season but this dude should just know, doesn't need coaching apparently.

You know what really sucks? Goalpost moving because someone doesn't like a player. Not a single person can possibly argue a coaching staff not assisting a rookie QB in film study is a good thing.

Rookie QBs learning a new offensive system should not be expected to study on their own. How an OC neglected that with his Franchise QB is mind boggling.

Shake your pom-poms for another qb if you wish buddy. Jaylen Daniels clearly DID his study work. But no doubt you'll role out more feeble excuses because how could the "generational" Caleb Willians NOT be great right? o:-)

Who did Justin Herbert have to babysit him in his rookie season?

It’s seemed all along like he was a little spoiled, but his dad seems to have driven all of the most outlandish proposals involved with his career.

He ultimately put his foot down with his father and went to Chicago. Do y’all still hold it against Eli Manning that his dad did the same and he didn’t stand up to him?

Yea I should have clicked the link I guess but nothing said in that book by he or his dad is going to sit well with a lot of people in Chicago.

I suppose if he becomes really successful which I doubt, it will all be forgotten but if he struggles this year it will be used as further evidence he is an egomaniac who will only blame the organization and others.

Gonna throw down a fiddy on the Bears to win NFC just for shits & giggles.

I maintain that “Jaylen” Daniels will never amount to anything or “role” out anything unique. I see his career arc akin to Daurice Fountain.
