He should be thanking his lucky stars, if Johnson can field a decent OL the weapons are in place such that Williams will have no excuses to not take a giant leap forward Johnson is 100% legit IMO, he will protect Williams with a steady run heavy approach while also getting creative on deep shots and trickeration... if Williams can forget his rookie year and start putting it together, Chicago could come roaring back IMO |
Johnson got exposed in the playoffs imo. Too much of a trick merchant and when those tricks didn't work he had nothing. And he won't have that great o-line and running duo to help his scheme either which was a huge element of his success. Plus Caleb's problems were not just coach related. He struggled to read defenses and wasn't good enough in the pocket even when he had time to throw. It's gonna be interesting to see how they get on next season but I'm not expecting any miracles tbh. Especially with the schedule they have.

The guy didn't have a bad rookie season, he'll probably end up being good if Ben Johnson ends up being a good HC.

You know what really sucks? Goalpost moving because someone doesn't like a player. Not a single person can possibly argue a coaching staff not assisting a rookie QB in film study is a good thing. |

I suppose if he becomes really successful which I doubt, it will all be forgotten but if he struggles this year it will be used as further evidence he is an egomaniac who will only blame the organization and others. |
