Thanks for posting!

Unless they are handicapping this thing, Kelce & Mahomes are going to get waxed. Curry is a 0.3 handicap and Klay is 12.2. Mahomes is like an 8 or 9. Not sure what Kelce is but I think he's similar to Klay.

I think the moral of this thing is also in scrambles 2 pretty good players are better than 1 really good player and a pretty bad player. Its pretty difficult for Klay to ever hit a shot better than Steph. |
Forgot to post pics of my trip to Bandon Dunes a few weeks back:

Mahomes shot 89 in Tahoe yesterday (and it is going little better for him so far today) compared to Curry's leading 69. Kelce shot 87.
It really was an absolutely massive choke by Steph to lose to the two Chiefs. |
Curry just got a hole in one. Hes going beast mode. Just shows u how fickle a game golf can be. He looked like av avg single digit golfer a couple weeks ago.

Patrick has developed a bad inside out swing. Last year when I saw him play he had a nice draw but sometimes came over the top with a snap hook. He needs work with a pro and he would be dangerous. Kelce you can tell he got lessons damned nice smooth swing bet really a strong grip. I don't know if whoever is teaching him had him get overly strong in the grip to try to curtail the cupping at impact and hitting fat high shots he was doing last year. On the tee, with driver, Kelce just looks tense with that grip. Noway Elway doesn't have a bottle in the bag. He couldn't make it through 18 without a swig.

Anyone have a simulator setup? I'm trying to decide if I should just bite the bullet on a Mevo+, or if I can get away with the SC4 or Garmin R10.
Also, who did you get your impact screen and mat from? |
Quote:
I bought my screen from https://www.par2pro.com/. I think I have the SQ raw screen and it works great. They have great support and can also help you with some set up questions. Let us know what sim you decide on and how you like it |

One of the subforums is specifically for launch monitor and indoor simulators. https://www.thehackersparadise.com/f...r-gps.8868106/ They also offer a lot of opportunities to test and review new equipment. The are a number of pretty cool "experiences" that will allow you to play some exclusive courses and receive some new gear. Check it out, I'm Dartgod over there too. |
Rory wins the Scottish. Hit some absolute daggers on the last few holes.

I’m heading to Royal Liverpool next week for the Open. Forecast shows rain and wind, should be fun.

Who ever is running the cameras for the Open on Peacock should be fired. Half the shots they can't even find the ball in flight or on the ground.

There are some exceptions but many of them don't host the Open. The best courses are North Berwick, Royal Dornoch, Turnberry Ailsa, Sunningdale, and Royal County Down. The rest look like shiite. Even worse to watch on TV. Even St. Andrews is overrated except for its last two holes and the 7th/11th hole. |
Quote:
I watched this morning's broadcast and they were only showing shots from about 4-5 players. It was pretty much just Koepka, Fleetwood, Spieth and Scheffler on repeat. I'd also like to know which dipshit suggested they bring Faldo back for this. He brings nothing to the table from a color commentary standpoint. |

Justin Thomas just absolutely butchered 18. This was his 5th on a par 5.

Also all these courses with long native grass that you get varying lies based on LUCK. Just stop it. Just make everything a hazard. If you go in, it's a stroke for everyone. |

Brian Harmon elite in the world at everything except hitting the ball hard.
Great putter. Great at not making bogeys. Super accurate off the tee. But he only hits it 289 yards. I wonder if you just gave him 40 yards more off the tee if he would win like 12 majors? Incredible round he had today. The wind was still whipping 15-20 mph most of his round this morning. |

Was Lamprect the Am that was in first?
+8 today......killer. |
Why do guys like Justin Thomas even come back Friday after shooting an 82? You aren't going to make the cut. Why go play for free? WD, fly home, get some other shit done. Life is too short to play shitty golf man.

Some guy named TIGER Christensen shot 77-74. German guy, apparently.
|
I don’t think anyone is catching Harmon in this slop. He’s to steady. He’s got a 6 shot lead after Young’s ridiculous bogey on one.
He can shoot 73 or 74 and still win easily. It’s gonna take an epic collapse. |

Harmon back to -12. He’s fighting for it.
|
Yeah Harman is a guy that usually has a high floor, low ceiling. He was never going to lose this unless Rahmbo shot 63 again. Harman hits it straight, low, short, and is a great putter. I don't think he can even shoot worse than 74. Just a boring golfer. Won't make any difference in the golf world ever again after this one.
|
Harman is 12 for 12 from 6 to 10 feet this week. That is incredible. I would likely be 0 for 10 or at best 1 for 10. Rory went all day missing all of those putts.
Harman was also 54 of 54 inside 5 feet this week as well. He missed his first 5 footer of the week just now. Insane. |
Poor Fleetwood. He's probably hit the ball better than anyone else this week. Has made absolutely nothing.
|
Harmon looks a lot like the guy from impractical jokers.

As promised, some photos from last week.

The wind didn't really blow for more than one day though (Friday), so that hole was a lot less interesting than it could have been. |
R&A also does do a great job of organizing and putting the event on, so I'd definitely recommend going.

A really nice look at Ben Hogan's swing. The position of the left leg as he changes direction and starts his downswing is something to emulate.

He is trash! Can't bomb it 380 and such a good putter. B.Willie

I used to have a Ben Hogan persimmon driver from the 70's that was pretty great. Very small but maybe best drive was 260-265. When I switched to metal I picked up 25-30 yards on best drive. One of my best friends had an old 2 wood that was both rare and bigger than 99% of the drivers. I would borrow it on occasion and to this day no other club I ever hit had the feel of that club when struck pure. The best driver for distance I ever owned was a gimmick type club made by the Woods Brothers out of Texas. It was a cork-filled golden maple wood driver with a plastic face with a huge 54" graphite shift. It bent like a bow and arrow when I swang it. Once I found the correct tempo to control ball flight for straight shots off the tee, I started hitting it 285-325 and was at the peak of my game somewhere around the early 90's. Got my handicap down to a 7.8 If I stepped on a course today, I would shot 40 over par. |
Quote:
When I started golfing again in 2019 or 2020 my handicap was sky high. Always have deep respect for the guys with great swings that dont have to play very often. One of my old college teammates just rolls out of bed, shoots 75 even if he hasn't played in 9 months. I lose my timing if I dont play for a few weeks. Thats the difference between a good swing and a great one. Its always there and doesnt necessarily require alot of play to be good. |
The biggest advancement in clubs is the enlarged faces for more forgiveness and not the horrible results on old blade irons when you miss. Cavity backed balanced clubs made a huge advancement for amateurs.
I would only hit a pure shot off my old Hogan blades about 3-4% of the time. It still is the most incredible feel. No cavity back club comes close to a pure blade strike. Problem was they were so ****ing hard to hit, miss hits were ugly as shit, and the worst was trying to muscle a 5 or 6 iron out of deep rough. I could NEVER get good contact. Lastly, hitting a 2 or 3 old tiny blade iron was the most difficult thing to do. Maybe a good strike was only 1 per thousand for me. Hated it and used a 5 wood whenever possible. Hybrids and cavity backed clubs to replace the 1-4 irons were a huge help for all amatuer golfers. |
So my 8 and 10 year old's made it to KC in the sub regional drive chip and putt. 10 year old ended up finishing 5th there, he's the better player but had a bad lag putt that killed his score.
8 year old won so we go to Castle Pines in Colorado in September for the super regional. A win there and we're off to Augusta national. |

That course is gorgeous. Old school for sure.

I'm going to be upgrading my driver from the Callaway Epic Flash Sub Zero to the Titleist TSR3. My friends tell me you can't have a driver head that is older than 5 years old.
