The greatest HC in the history of the league, who just happened to fall ass-backwards into one of the greatest QB's of all time.

Yeah, this.

Across the league, the HC has a majority of control in a lot more situations than we all realize.

I think the issue is a lot bigger with the lawsuits pending against the Chiefs and Pioli. Clark is getting counseled by his legal team obviously.

There's no way Pioli is back. There has to be some legal reason why it hasn't happened yet.

At this point, I'm not worried Pioli will be back.

I am worried that we're painting ourselves into a corner with this "total control" model.

Time will tell.

So not only will Pioli be fired, it could be with cause so no money, and maybe some legal problems force him to prison?

Yes plz.

You could say that about a lot of coaches.

The kind of coach we all really want doesn't really exist on the open market. They're locked up in Green Bay and New Orleans and the like.

SB in year two. From there? Mediocre at best. Hasn't been in the league since '07, only one year later than Cowher.

And Cowher's resume is substantially better. Not even close.

Billick? No ****ing thanks. I'm not saying he'd be a disaster, but he'd certainly be nothing more than perpetuating mediocrity.

Anyone who argues for Billick but against Cowher is being grossly contradictory in my view.

I think Clark finally realized he had been duped by the NFL's biggest asshole con man...and Peyton Manning's testimony was the final piece of evidence.

Finally woke up from the dream that his GM was his best friend...and realized he's a dick.

Well we've done the other way since 1998 and it's been an unmitigated disaster. It MAY not work but it is a wholesale change from what we know DOES NOT work.

I'll need to check with Feces Koolaid before i can get on board with this.

If Clark communicated with the coach more, he feels he could prevent garbage like that.

Essentially Pioli sucks is the moral to all of this. Not about paying or going to court. It just seems Clark has hated the last 4 years behind the scenes just as much as we have had the product on our televison.

I wish someone would or could write a tell all book of the last four years of the Chiefs/Pioli behind closed doors. I'd love to see how many of these rumors or stories are actually true crazy accounts that happened.

maybe in 10 years the NFL Network will run A Football Life: 2009-2012 Kansas City Chiefs Scooter Pioli Disaster

OK, makes sense. But as mad as he is, I hope he just realized that he just looked in the mirror and realized that he needed to be more involved. Not calling plays or the defense, but I'm not sure how the whole "TH wanting the rest of his coin" issue didn't come up on his Monday morning EBC. Local or not, that's one that he should have known a lot more about. But I'm happy he's understanding that now..

As for the book, sooooooooooo yeah!!! It'd be a great read!

Adam Schefter‏@AdamSchefter

Though he'd like to be an HC again one day, Pats OC Josh McDaniels notified teams Monday he will remain in NE, not interview for HC jobs now

Guess scott got told no

That's right. He has a QB. Show me a great HC without a great QB; that guy doesn't really exist.

that's what i got out of all this

somehow with the legal process, if Clark and his connections can pin some of these lawsuits on Scooter, then there might be just cause lol

So Clark's going to play a game of chicken with Pioli?

Clark needs to hire a HC, and it appears the tune Clark is singing is to hire a HC and give all personnel control to him.

To do that, means to fire Pioli - which means buying him out.

To haggle with Pioli means we're not hiring anyone anytime soon.

I don't see Pioli rolling over, so it seems like a gigantic waste of time and energy to wait for it to happen.

It needs to happen ASAP - get the new staff in and get working towards the most important draft in the history of the franchise.

Yeah, if the guy isn't going to be on payroll there is no need having him around any longer even if it might save the team a little money. They've been paying Cassel ten million a year so Clark shouldn't be so concerned with cutting corners with this assclown.

I don't care what the "model" is. The model doesn't matter as long as you have the right guys in place. And by right guys i mean Qb.
