SNR's Top Ten Darkhorses for Hootie's Top Ten
1. cdcox- This guy has it all. He's universally well-liked, extremely thoughtful, creative, and his prediction software kicks unbelievable amounts of ass. He's got good grammar, he's polite without being annoyingly chummy, and is a long-time vet. I shouldn't even be listing him as a darkhorse, but he still tends to get overlooked by people. No clue why.
2. DJ's Left Nut- Here's another guy who shouldn't even be on this list. I simply haven't found any room yet on the first two drafts of my Big Board Top Ten, but I'm almost positive as things clear up he'll be in the running for a spot. I don't know of any other poster who can authoritatively deliver his football opinions from such a clear and dispassionate perspective. One downside is he's a lawyer. Hootie's experiences with lawyers might be somewhat sour what with all the raping he does.
3. tk13- I don't frequent Royals threads too much, and I don't see him posting football stuff as often as he used to, but his positive reputation around the forum and good-natured personality make him somebody that nearly everybody considers in a top quality poster. Really, the only reason why he's on the darkhorse list is because I don't like how he makes fun of me for liking Gordon Lightfoot's "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald." It's a good song, damn it.
4. Demonpenz- A far subtler version of Thig Lyfe who doesn't seem to bruise quite so many vaginas. Personally, I find his McRib story to be one of the finest posts ever crafted on Chiefs Planet. His problem is going to be the presence of Thig Lyfe and a few others with eclectic personalities. There may not be enough room to fit all of them in the top ten, but Demon's got a pretty decent chance.
5. keg in kc- I've got quite a few dinosaurs on here who were around from the earliest days of Chiefs Planet. Keg's in the realm of cdcox and tk13 in terms of likeability. If Hootie looks past keg's tendency to disappear for weeks at a time as well as his love of nerd culture, keg's got a top ten ranking in the bag.
6. Direckshun- A poster on my personal top ten list, there's no guy in the entire forum who performs his citizenly duty to the Planet as much as Direckshun. And by that I mean rather than sit around and bitch about the dullness, monotony, or culture that the forum takes, Direckshun is always out there to do something about it. He asks questions. Starts threads. Puts out content and DISCUSSION material. Not sure if Hootie will see it that way, and instead might be annoyed by all the mock drafts he posts. But it's something that can not be ignored, and it will keep Direckshun in the discussion for a top ten slot.
7. Saulbadguy- I'm taking a total stab in the dark on this one. I don't think there's anybody on this forum who can stir so many panties with such little effort. It's beautiful how he does it. The man should write a book. Zen in the Art of ****ing With People.
8. loochy- Another poster in the Demonpenz mode with a little more of a straightforward style. If I were to compare them all to members of the Monty Python troupe, he'd be the Terry Jones to Demonpenz's Eric Idle to Thig Lyfe's Terry Gilliam. Strong candidate for the 8-10 slots.
9. milkman- A sour old man who gets turned off by the crazy antics of young whipper snappers. Many people believe milkman won't score well with his running gag of calling people dumbasses. He's a poster that may crack the top ten through his no-nonsense football knowledge, something that has earned him respect since this community's first few days of infancy.
10. DaFace- Very likely we won't see any mods in the top ten, but if there is one, it's gotta be DaFace. During the "unnecessary drama" spat with Gonzo, Hootie mentioned how he longed for the Chiefs Planet where DaFace was the primary mod on the job. The fact that he's a mod is what being a darkhorse is all about.
