This year our QB cap number is the lowest for the length of Cassel's contract. If we have to sign another QB next year and then try to resign Albert and Dorsey or replace Dorsey, the $34 million might not be enough. You can't just say overpay for Bowe and it will all work out. At the same time you can't just be stuck on a number if you're close. If he's asking for Megatron or Fitzgerald money, he's good, but not that good. You can't just stroke a guy's financial self worth and maintain a team concept.

All said and done, the thing separating the two sides of this debate is what they think Bowe is worth.

One side thinks X+10m is a "blank check", "brinks truck", etc.

The other side thinks X is "lowballing".

Recognizing that we are all speculating, how far apart do you feel the two sides are?

And I think everyone in this thread agrees that the Lions paid too much for Calvin Johnson.
