It makes sense if he and his agent decided the market was so soft and he'd get more money by just playing under the tag. He makes almost $10mill this year and then with a new contract next year and the guaranteed money he'll recieve he should make more than if he signed a new contarct this year.

Osi Umenyiora - DL - Giants

Per USA Today's Mike Garafolo, the Lions and Dolphins have expressed interest in free agent Osi Umenyiora.
This is our first Umenyiora news blurb in nine days, which suggests either that league-wide interest in him is light or he's simply asking for far too much money. Osi needs to check his expectations because the defensive end market has produced far weaker contracts than players like Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett expected. Umenyiora may have to wind up settling for about $4 million a year.

Damn, just looking at our pick ups.

12 players. The majority of whom will be/compete for starting positions. We haven't even hit the draft yet.

Out of 22 starters.... this will be a completely different team.

I'd rather have him as a backup.

With Kolb and Fitz in the market, he'd be cheap too.

so youre telling me we could have had rookie 1.1 QB (Geno Smith, anyone for that matter) and Matt Hasselbeck and instead we got Alex Smith and Chase Daniel

lol

People would've been excited about Hasselbeck?

He should just retire.

Raiders announced the signing of former Falcons DT Vance Walker.

R8RFAN 03-18-2013 03:43 PM

The Oakland Raiders have signed DT Vance Walker

Vance Walker - DT - Atlanta Falcons: Walker isn't a big name, but the man can play football. Walker is a run stuffer in a 4-3 scheme who can get some penetration on passing downs. In 2012, the fourth-year lineman had three sacks. His numbers have improved across the board every year, and at 25 his stock is rising.
