Samurai Jack

This had to be one of the most depressing episodes of 24 ever.

Does Jack's kidnapping signal another season of Live Another Day?

Yvonne Strahovski is still alive. She can help him save the world again next season before they kill her off.

Highly unlikely.

I thought the episodes where his wife and Renee Walker got killed were more depressing than this one. This was just a typical final season's episode in many ways.

From an interview with Manny Coto:

Now that he's been captured by the Russians (again), where do you see the saga of Jack Bauer going from here? There was talk about this miniseries spinning into an actual TV series. What’s the plan?

Coto: There actually is no plan. This was conceived as an ending. This is not to say there won’t be anything else, but right now, this is the end. I will point out that, as Jack walks off, there is a silent clock. I’ll let you make of that what you will.

Without a doubt that was also a heart-rending one...But this season had so many tragic characters:

Jack's sacrifice to free Chloe
Audrey's death
President Heller's horrible realization at the end of what the near future meant for him
Mark Boudreau's tragic character

Exactly why I think he is dead.

"A silent clock is a rare occurrence on 24 in which the digital clock displayed at the end of a scene or episode is silent, without the typical beeping sounds. It occurred thirteen times and was used to punctuate highly emotional scenes. Seven of them took place around the time of the death of a significant character; the other six did not. "

He survived a year being tortured in China. Are the Russians tougher?

If Keifer wants to get back into Jack, it will happen. If Fox doesn't want a series, there is surely money to finance a movie. Give Fox a cut for the rights etc.
