Thanks to Rain Man I felt like bumping this old thread since my high school now wants to do a 25 year reunion after already doing a 5, 10 and 20 year reunion.

I went to my 10 and regretted it. It was cool to see some people that I hadn’t seen in a while, but there were too many people trying to impress each other. The food was horrible, the event was overpriced, the DJ was someone’s dad who was playing cassettes (even though CDs had been around for well over 10 years).

I skipped 15 because I hated the 10th, but I will probably go to my 20th to see how people have changed.

Well, since this has been bumped, I did go to my 20 (a couple of years ago) and had a decent time. It was pretty casual. Unfortunately, I had just been laid off at that time, so it was fun answering the question "what do you do for a living" over and over again.

I've been to too many to recount, but I had a geat time at each one of them. I missed the first two due to being overseas, but all the rest of them turned out great.

We had a small class and about half showed up for the first few. Now most are just staying at home. We get about 10 each meeting now days.

Should have had alittle fun with it...

Q: "So, what do you do for a living."

A: "Oh me?... I'm a gun-for-hire."

I've never been to one because anyone who I felt like staying in contact with I already do.

Our HS Alumni Associaiton has a giant dinner for all classes and they honor the 5 year multiple classes. There are some really old graduates that still get out and the older ones do most of the dancing!

I would probably fit your "less popular" category, as most of my friends in high school were from neighboring towns and the place I worked. I went to my 20th, as I heard that was the one that the cliques disappear and people tend to be friendlier. That didn't turn out to be true in my case.

It was an interesting experience to see how people turned out and I did catch up with a few friends, but, overall, I would say the whole experience was "meh". :shake: Probably worth doing once but won't go to any more (my 25th is this summer).

I'm not sure I still feel this way. I've "met up" with some classmates on Facebook and it has been kind of fun.

My 30th is next summer :doh!: and I may go. If it is in a casual setting, i'll probably go. If it's another formal one - forget it. That was boring, uncomfortable and expensive.

I would have gone to mine, but they wanted like $50.

Screw that.

It costs most twice that much to get to the location they are having the reunion.

Did you actually get invited to your reunion? Did you actually graduate from HS?

That's something I noticed about some of the high school reunions on the west coast. Seems all of them feel the need to re-invent the Senior Prom atmosphere.

All of mine have been casual and loads of fun.

I was on vacation during my 10 year. From what I heard, I missed basically nothing.

I went to 5 and 20. Had a good time. Just 7 more to 40 year reunion!

"HS Alumni Associaiton"
who are these people anyway? 10 years ago, they kept sending the wife and i donation requests to put down a new floor in the gym. i just ignored it. then we went to our daughters graduation and i walk by this plaque on the wall w/the names of people who donated over $100, and my name was on it. wtf??? so the wife fesses up and admits to sending them a check.

then, last month, they call me and want to know if i'll ride on a friggin donkey at a donkey basketball game to raise money for some other kind of horse shit. i told them to piss off...i didn't spend $100 for a floor, just to ride/fall off a damn donkey and jack it all up again.

proves they did teach me something.

Those that have responded since the resurection of the thread:

What year did you graduate from HS and how many in your class?

Me. 1970 with 70 graduates.

I went to my 20th this past summer and had a lot of fun. I wouldn't say it was a "blast", but fun. I didn't go to my 10th or 15th. It was casual, in a small city park - I wouldn't have gone if it would have cost and $$.

EDIT because of the above post: I graduated in 1990 with a class of 69.
