Touche'. I hadn't really thought about that. I guess because that really doesn't affect me. I quit smoking cigarettes when I was 21(after 6 years). I'm very glad I did, though. Not just for the better health but also for all that money that goes down the drain.

ROFL There's a shocker, more laws.

I just took a defensive driving course taught by a Kansas Highway Patrolman. He said he has done around 3700+ collision reports in over 25 years in the business, and out of the fatal ones he's done, he's only had to unbuckle 2 seatbelts. One guy was impaled by a piece of lumber, and the other ran in to an armored vehicle and was decapitated.

You'd have to be a reerun to get in a car and not wear your seatbelt.

You believe a cop? You know how they lie.

This guy was pretty cool. He wouldn't lie.

All cops lie.

That being said people need to wear their seatbelts. But I do not believe you need to be ticketed for not doing so. It should be at the driver's discretion whether or not he wears one.

JMO.

It should be a matter of choice. I've been driving for 50 years without one and miraculously I'm still here.

In Kansas it's a secondary violation, meaning you can't get pulled over for just not wearing your seatbelt. Plus it's only 30 bucks. North Carolina fines a driver $150 for not wearing their seatbelt, and it's a primary violation.

Yeah but unlike the rest of us, if you died, no one would care.

I've worn one ever since it kept me from going out the windshield.

Instead, just a wicked concussion from the door frame. Which explains quite a bit, I think...
