Eric Price maybe?
I'd argue that Bowe's much better at his position than Hali is at his.

Krumrie has one middling DE and a bunch of young guys who aren't ready to be big contributors yet.

Seriously... What position coach had less to work with?

We can't just look at their draft positions and assume that they should be an all-world line.

You might be 100% correct but if you really want to clean shop and send a message that mediocrity won't be tolerated you don't keep the coach responsible, to any degree, in the same job. Impression it sends it it doesn't matter how back you suck, your fault or not.

You're overrating the talent?

I'm not a big fan of Krumrie's. I was hoping he'd be replaced, but at the same time I realize that we didn't exactly have a bunch of studs along the D-Line. That group was among the most talent-deficient on the entire team.

Even the Offensive Line, I think, had better talent.

in the postseason it was.....they just weren't the steelers

27th ranked defense in 3rd down conversions allowed (44% vs Chiefs' 47%)
26th in penalty yards allowed (816 yards vs Chiefs' 588 -- Chiefs were #3 in that category)
27th ranked defense in points allowed (26.6 per game vs. Chiefs' 27.5)
T-17th for total Interceptions (13 vs. Chiefs' 13)
T-8th for forced fumbles (20 vs. Chiefs' 20)
T-14th for sacks registered (31 vs. Chiefs' 10)

They also held opponents to 13 points or less only 4 times (and 2 of those were against the St. Louis Rams).

If it's Pendergast that would be very disappointing...

God that is horrid and they have a ton more talent than the Chiefs do on D.

And I don't disagree, but I think that message can easily get lost in the same fire.

IF, that unit was completely and utterly devoid of talent.

you know I am pumped until they prove me otherwise.......Pioli isn't stupid

Explain, please. How did he use Dorsey that was wrong? I don't know. I just saw him getting pwned all year and wondered why.

where did i say they had no talent, are you twisting words here? or making shit up?

you act like 1-11 they are pro bowlers, not true. and history has shown that when you dont control the clock with the run your defense struggles.

Mecca 02-17-2009 06:50 PM

Would you like me to name their defense?

Their defense is full of talented players they in no way should be ranked where they were.

ChiefsCountry 02-17-2009 06:51 PM

Steve Hoffman is a hell of a special teams coach. That is a darn good move.
