Awesome ep. I so just want to take off to China and wander around.

That warmed my tiny, shriveled heart.

It was perfect.

I love this show.

How in the world did I miss this entire season. Me=fail.

I haven't seen a frame of the 3rd season. Just got caught up on the first two seasons on Netflix.
But, I think this is an outstanding show. Easily one of my favorites right now. Top 5 absolutely, probably top 3. Season Two started off a little wonky for my taste. But it quickly improved. I laughed, out loud, harder than I expected, but I love how subtle and human the show is. It's best when it's more than dick and fart jokes - which, I thought, were pretty heavy bookends to the show. Also, Reaper's right. |

The doll scene was some of the funniest tv I've seen in a long time.
I still can't figure out if he's miserable, though. Ultimately I don't think he is, I think he loves NY (which is what made the trip to China so interesting/wrenching; he had to get out of a city he clearly has great affinity for). He loves his daughters. He just can't seem to get over the hump...but doesn't really seem to care. The show kinda seems to just boil down to little more than a show about middle-aged malaise from a guy that should probably be more successful than he is but doesn't seem too broken up about it. Then again, apathy can be viewed as a form of depression... Eh, !@#$ it, I like it and that's about all that matters. |
