Neither do I.

They're looking like a 5-7 win team this year.

I don't know that I totally agree with this.

If he gains you 10 yards per change of possession, it's like adding a sack in there. Look at the bust rate of your average 2nd rounder and we're getting a better ROI than most.

On the other hand, there are always going to be exceptions to the generalities. In general, a game-breaking returner in the 2nd round is better than most teams will get. However, when you don't have a NT and your LBs are sub-standard, and there are 2 legitimate LBs that have a chance to be gamebreakers in your scheme, as well as a NT that has fallen nearly a full round, you have to go with the LB or the NT.

In general, I have no problem with a 2nd rounder that would yield the kind of impact that Arenas could in our return game. However, when combined with the McCluster pick and in light of the players available and our weaknesses on the team, it was not a good decision.

From this perspective it was a reach. We could have gotten the NT and taken the CB in a later round. They didn't need to trade up for Moiake either. Simply because of his injury history.

And which team was that? It certainly wasn't Atlanta. It certainly wasn't Tampa Bay. Green Bay didn't play their starters on offense and Philly has a young first year starting QB.

Teams ran at will when they chose to run against the Chiefs first team. Hell, Tampa Bay of all teams moved the ball up and down the first in the first quarter and a half against the Chiefs first teamers.

You are seeing things that just aren't there. Either that, or you're unfamiliar with the opposing starters.

You have a lot of qualifiers, it'll be that way all season won't it? Chiefs look good-the team they played must be bad, Chiefs look bad-see, the Chiefs suck!

Could a college rg move to the left without much problem?

A decent qb could win 8-10 games with the schedule/ talent we have.

I wish we weren't married to matt cassel

All im going to say is that Arenas and McCluster wouldnt look like such bad picks had we picked up Sanchez or another "franchise" qb guy..

Exactly. And the QB was Pioli's **** up for sure. But have we improved outside the QB? Yes, we have.

I haven't read this thread, but my initial thought is, holy shit! You're working for Slick Nick again?

I've got to say I'm surprised at how much people are upset by us taking McCluster and Arenas in the second round, but I don't hear much about how little we're getting out of our two FIRST rounders Dorsey and Jackson. I haven't seen anything even close to second round production out of those two. We could have taken "second round talent" instead of those guys and had better players in the end.

We've come to expect high-round, D-line FAIL?

I guess we have?!?! I'm way more excited to see D-Mac and Arenas tear it up than watch our D-Line play. I know that they aren't supposed to do a lot in the 3-4 scheme, but jeez, they don't do ANYTHING!!

The funny thing is that I really like that stuff as a kid. I guess no one told me it sucked. I'd eat three bowls for breakfast and go to school wanting more.
