It's really simple, we need to upgrade both of their positions before the start of next season. Cassel is going to be a career backup and Bowe has had more than enough time to develop into a good WR and that hasn't happened. There is no way he is ever going to develop into a #1 WR, like the team and the fans thought he would. Both of them need a "chat" with Ray Farmer at the end of the season.

My guess is that there are a lot of receivers out there who can catch a ball that's thrown in their numbers. It's harder for us to find receivers because we need guys with 60-inch verticals and 12-foot arm spans. Those guys don't come along every day.

Getting WAY fewer targets.

I posted the numbers last night, but he had 274 combined targets his first two years in the league.

He's going to be lucky to get to 175 in the first two years of Cassel.

He'd get a few more targets if he could catch the ball and keep a drive alive.

Take those two out of the Indy system, and give them Matt Cassel, and they are garbage.

It's a good thing that Herm didn't feel that way.

Too bad Haley doesn't. Not like we couldn't use 1000 yard WR with 8 TD's.

Albert played an awesome game. Cassel never got sacked til late and we ran on the left side all day. The only think Albert did wrong was not hold on the holding penalty he was called for.

Bowe will be fine. Cutting him would be stupider than trading for Cassel. He put up solid numbers with Huard and Thigpen for sakes and he made JaMarcus Russell the number one pick. He does have drop problems but so does alot of great receivers.
