I doubt anybody has claimed this team is one of the best or most talented in the NFL, and whoever has is an idiot. But why the hell would people not be excited, even with performances like last week? This team has outperformed expectations, even with performances like last week. I for one and glad to not be picking in the top 5. We can finally draft a talented player and not worry about paying him too much. Anybody who doesn't think this team is going in the right direction is blind.

So long story short, what is the point of calling this team a fraud? If this team was a finished product then we surely would be a fraud. As it is right now though, we are a rebuilding team in progress who are probably over performing.

But I wouldn't expect a fat loser like yourself to understand any of this. So do us all a favor and go choke on a dick and die, pillowbiter.

I'll answer this for OTWP.

We've improved from allowing 4.7 YPC to 4.3 YPC.

Slight improvement.

What do you expect when seven of the Chiefs 13 games have come against teams in the bottom half of the league in rushing offense?

We have shut down exactly ONE good rushing offense this year, and that came in a game with a tractor-riding hayseed playing quarterback for the opposition.

If you take a look at the 2009 schedule, we didn't really have the luxury of facing a bunch of dogshit running teams.

And at the beginning of the year all of the teams were 0-0. You seem to want to act as if the teams started out 0-8 before they played the Chiefs.

The facts are that the team is better now than it's been since Vermeils last year. Back then we had tons of offense and NO defense. You are under the delusion that because the Chiefs record is 8-5 they should be tons better.

Enter 2006-2009 the Chiefs were 19-45 and you can't see improvement in the team? I'm sure the Chiefs run defense in those four seasons was just incomparable to the current defense.

kcchiefsus seems to have it nailed. You might read what he had to say. Too bad you don't have the capacity to see the Chiefs are not the team they were, and yet you feel compelled to tell us all they are frauds? It just doesn't wash goatcheese.

Two reasons: The past and the future.

Right now we're a team constructed to lose in the first round of the playoffs. Dogshit receivers other than one guy, pass protection that gets raped against upper echelon pass rush teams, questionable quarterback play that has only recently started to trend upward. Those kinds of teams go home early in January, and we have a history of that in Kansas City for the exact same reasons (mostly QB and receiver).

As far as the future, next year our schedule is ****ing brutal. We don't play the NFC West, and we won't draw shitty teams like Buffalo or Cleveland again. Even if we make the playoffs this year, it's no guarantee we even get close next year.

Because we passed on addressing the front seven in 2010 (and in 2009, incidentally, thanks Mr. Pioli), it's a dire need going into 2011. Of course, we also passed on adding a real receiver (instead, we got a gimmick), which almost ensures our first pick next year will be a receiver.

What are the odds we get the right receiver and the right two or three players our front seven needs to take that step up to where they can compete with the 6-6 teams in this league instead of giving up 200 yards rushing and getting shut out 31-0?

Somewhere around 3,720 to 1.

No, I'm under the "delusion" that because we're 8-5, we ought to be competing with 6-6 teams, or at least not completely ****ing embarrassing ourselves.

FWIW, the last time the Chiefs made the playoffs, they did it on the collective back of the AFC West team, too, and got exposed as frauds for their trouble.

Are you pissed that the Chiefs are 8-5 when maybe they could/should be 5-8?

What did you expect this season? I expected 6-8 wins. Growing pains.

I'm not surprised they got their ass handed to them in SD.

Not sure why you're throwing a tantrum about this.

I was.

Supposedly they were a decent football item. At least that's what I was beginning to believe.

I guess they're bigger frauds than even I could have possibly fathomed.

Frauds. LOL There's that word again.

Its your mistake that you assumed they were good. Even Haley says they're not. They will be. Too many holes now. At least they're learning how to win at home. Young team. Give it some time. They will be soon enough.

If the run defense was as poor as you say they Chiefs would not be 8-5. You seem to have a common sense disconnect in your ability to reply to a simple question.

AGAIN: Is the Chiefs run defense better this year than it was last year?

The goalposts I set?

Here's my first comment:

I'm not going to get into the side arguments, but getting back on topic, he's right.

Our run defense has been pretty bad the past 6 games, not counting Seattle - they didn't even try to run the ball, 10-12 attempts at most.

Not a good time to face the 3 RB's coming up.
What the Chiefs defense did against the run last year has nothing to do with my comment. Nothing. At. All.

I'm not sure what part of "Our run defense has been pretty bad the past 6 games" you don't get. It's a fact. They've given up an average of 145 yards per game during the stretch I mentioned. That's not good. If you want to try to rationalize that because the defense is overall better than last year, be my guest. It doesn't make my comment any less factual, however.

If you want to get into a pissing match with Clay over something unrelated, fine. What the two of you are arguing over has nothing to do with what I said, I was simply agreeing with the idea in the OP - that it's a bad time for the run defense to have started declining. Nothing more.

You're wasting your time with me, Tom.

Thanks for playing.

This very thread is the opposite of the one with your game by game predictions.

:deevee::deevee::deevee: Go root for the chargers then. Honestly. or the Pats cuz obviously you cannot handle losing very well.

Its part of the game.

What I get is that your comments about the Chiefs run defense seems to turn a blind eye as to the fact they are not the team they were last year. They are 8-5 for God's sake, you act as if they were losing every game. If you can't handle them going through the growth to a better team maybe you should move on and root for another team. Why don't you and goatcheese get married and move to San Francisco and root for the 9ers?

I hope the Chiefs players read your shit and then happen across you at arrowhead someday. Your just dessert will be just wonderful.

And there it is. Tom basically admitting this was more about me, and not about my post.

Apparently in Tom's world, stating a fact (145 yards rushing against the past 6 games, sans Seattle) is "slamming" the Chiefs.

What's next? Reporting every post in which someone uses your name?

Your act was tired on your second username, it's just downright pathetic on what, your 5th? 6th?

Why did you delete that post, Tom?

LMAO

OnTheWarpath15 12-16-2010 09:47 PM

Why are you sending me PM's making false claims, Tom?

Where have I ever made a comment that would lead someone to believe we've met?

Oh wait, I haven't.

At the beginning of the season I thought this team was AT BEST a 8-8 team. So far they've exceeded anyone's expectations.
