I've already posted my mock, sunshine.

You want me to go through his mock and only pick players he thinks are going to be drafted by KC or after? No thanks.

Greg Cox is another writer on the site.....and he's updated his latest 3 round mock.

21. Kansas City Chiefs: Brooks Reed, DE/OLB, Arizona
I am crediting a Kansas City fan I frequently correspond with for this pick. Although I can see them taking Baylor's Phil Taylor to man the nose tackle, I question if general manager Scott Pioli will overlook his troubles at Penn State.

Their other big need on the front seven is a pass-rusher to pair with Tamba Hali. Right now their best option is Andy Studebaker taking over for Mike Vrabel. I am skeptical this is going to work, and if Hali misses any time whatsoever, their defense is sunk.

Brooks Reed stood out at the Combine. He is in consideration for Thursday night and would not be that much of a reach here.

55. Kansas City Chiefs: Torrey Smith, WR, Maryland
It was really hard to watch the Chiefs trying to move the chains in their playoff loss to the Ravens. When Dwayne Bowe was taken out of the offense, it got ugly in a hurry.

Torrey Smith is going to start drawing attention early on Day 2, but I couldn't find an earlier spot for him in this version. He is a solid complementary receiver.

86. Kansas City Chiefs: Jerrell Powe, NT, Mississippi
If the Chiefs pass on Phil Taylor in the first round, they need to find another nose tackle prospect later on.

I really love that mock.

FWIW......Cox has Gabbert going #1, Cam Newton falling to the Bills in round 2 and Von Miller going #3 overall to the Bills.

I could live with Reed in the first. He has that non-stop motor and love for the game that some GM's love. Plus, he didn't balk at moving to OLB (like Kerrigan did), and he showed some ability to do so Senior Bowl week. His combine #'s were very good as well.

I've said before I could see Newton slipping to round 2. It just depends on if a team like the Bengals that could care less about character decides to take him.

Bewbies 03-18-2011 03:51 PM

If Cam Newton is available at our pick I'd hope we'd take him.

Gross.

Smith in the second is, to quote you "gross", especially if Hankerson is available, but a first three rounds of:

1. Reed
2. Hankerson
3. Powe

is totally acceptable, as long as they address the suckitude at the offensive line after that.

spanky 52 03-20-2011 05:39 AM

They better address the suckitude of the offensive line before the fourth round.

Reed will suck.

Smith provides what this time actually needs which is the ability to stretch the field and get seperation. We really don't need another DB clone in Hankerson as much as I like him.

We don't need a speedster bc Cassel can't throw the long ball. A Bowe clone is fine. A big receiver who can make 10 yard catches is perfect.

It's also nice for crossing patterns and such to have speed besides this WR will out live Cassell's stay here anyways.

Nightfyre 03-20-2011 04:56 PM

Its moot. Hankerson will not drop to our pick in the second.

Ill bet our first is taylor. If not, we don't chance powe to the third. We take him in the second. No matter what we will address NT in the first two rounds. I would also bet we address center early, unless there is someone we love in the later rounds.
