But we're still very glad that he's a Royal. Same will be true for Hosmer.

At the VERY least, Hosmer is far better than anyone we've had at first in years and years.

I'm not really glad Alice is still on the team.

I think that true "superstars" tend to hit the ground running. And this year has shown that it's not the case with Hosmer.

And I know all about the Bautistas of the world, but I'm interested in more than a handful of outstanding years when I label someone a true superstar, so there's a bit of semantics going on here.

Someone reference Konerko the other day. If you told me right now that Hosmer would have a Konerko-like career, I would consider that epic win.

Well, at least we're having a productive conversation and completely ignoring this shit ass game.

Al Bundy 07-08-2012 01:28 PM

You don't think this team has mailed it in this season?

He's below replacement level in the field; the numbers don't lie.

He looks the part, but this year he hasn't been playing the part. Now, I'm not saying he's Kila or Harvey, but I'm just saying...

Not trying to bash him; in fact, I would be looking to sign him long term after this year.

This team has shown far more motivation than any Royals team that I can remember.

Superstars DO hit the ground running, they don't have Ken Harvey like sophmore years. Hosmer will be really good when he gets to the Yankees.

here is something I can agree to. Sign him to a super long-term deal now, while his value is at a low. It might even help take some the pressure off him, knowing that the team has his back.

A little spurt in the 9th inning has been it outside of 2 big innings vs the Blue Jays... this team is rolling over.

So you think absolutely collapsing to get to their coveted 10 games under mark is not rolling over?

Al Bundy 07-08-2012 01:36 PM

You think Hudler feels the walls closing in around him? With all this talk of "young star" shit. Until Hosmer is mashing don't refer to him as a young star, refer to him as an average young player.

Would everyone be ok with me organizing a mass Al Bundy Ignore campaign for all Royals threads?
