Matt, you're a backup. That's all you'll ever be. If you want to be pissed, then be pissed at Don Pioli for insisting that you're something that you're not and putting you in position to fail because of it. Take your $63 MILLION and STFU!

Of course they're not innocent. Players putting up cash to jack another player up was one of the hottest stories in the off season. In terms of players on the same team, they want to play. Backups don't get paid millions (other than the Chiefs, finally.)

You don't just leave the guy in there to rot.

Especially when you have a former 1st rd pick on the bench....Quinn has SOME talent ya know...

That level of reasoning is the same Pioli used for why you don't bench a guy you traded a 2nd round pick for and paid $60 million. Throughout their careers Quinn has actually shown less talent than Cassel. Hopefully they'll combine to win us few enough games that we can dump both their sorry asses.

Wrong.

Cassel has been given the best opportunities. Quinn has been put in the shittiest.

The Cassel experiment should have ended last season....we should have signed Orton as a stop gap until we had enough ammo to possibly trade up for a 1st rd pick next seasons draft like Geno or Wilson.

That's the ideal situation that many of us would rather have.

But the cards didn't fall that way. Pioli purposely (regardless if he says it or not) signed Quinn to force Crennel's hand in naming Cassel the starter...I get that, but don't agree w/ it....but as bad as Cassel has played you HAVE to bench the guy. Leaving him out to rot is going to continue this downward spiral, the same kind of spiral that's making Bowe and Colquitt (probably others) want to leave this organization. To be honest, Quinn has much more God given talent at the QB position, he's a much better passer IMO.

But it gets to a point where the whole team's morale and chemistry hits rock bottom because your alleged "leader" is shitting his pants on a monumental level, driving the god damn short bus to Hell. You can see it in the team's play. You saw it last season when the team had more "bounce" in their step whenever Orton took over.

Oh shit, we put a real QB out there? When did we do that? All I have seen is Croyle, Palko, Cassel, Orton, and Quinn. Must have missed it. Hell Orton is only blah and he at least showed something. Matt looks alright compared to most of these other QBs, and that was the point Pioli was going for.

With Josh McDaniels back in New England think the Chiefs can trade him back for anything?

Pioli is the one responsible for bringing those players here. If they are comparable to Check Down and he is the best that we have...Pioli needs to do a better job.
