No Donovan but 4 German retreads?

****!

Over/under for US goals scored at the Cup should be set at 1.5. And I'm betting under

Klinsmann's put his ass on the line with these selections, that's for sure...

I wish we could have a team full of Germans. They aren't the issue.

3 out of 23 players isn't some big issue. Fabian Johnson isn't bad. Chandler is hurt too much though.

Did we give up 2 second rounders in the Bastards of horny servicemen draft?

He got a deal to plan for 2018 and took it. Brazil '14 is gonna blow chunks for USMNT.

Huh?

He's already signed thru 2018 cup. This squad has every look of playin for the next one.

Just excuse me, quite puzzled with this lineup.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Good god. No one in the history of world cups has ever played for the next world cup.

How do you explain Green though? Guy has done absolutely nothing but disappoint, yet he takes the trip over Landon? Landon does even deserve a reserve roll? This is either personal, or getting young guys experience.

I liked Donovan for the super sub role. I was really surprised that he didn't make it.

But, I'm also NOT surprised at all that Green made it.

Personally, I would have liked Donovan over Brad Davis. Probably the only change that I would have made.

aturnis 05-22-2014 08:47 PM

Why take Julian Green?

Green can provide a moment of brilliance off of the bench.

Giving him some experience to prime him for 2018 isn't the worst thing in the world, either. (And if his one-time switch was contingent on going to Brazil, then fine. I don't like deals like that, but I'm going to be realistic about it.)

I wanted both Donovan and Green on the 23.

Brad Davis has a great left foot but I don't see him being very useful against Portugal/Germany. Too slow.
