Sorry man. The very worst part of owning a pet is knowing you're going to have to go thru the loss. Give it some time and get another one.

We just got our fist dog (as man n' wife) and it's amazing how quickly they become family.

And I agree that it's better to save an animal suffering than to keep it around because of the loss we know we'll feel letting go...

Sorry to hear about your dog. I lost mine a few months ago so I know its hard to accept, especially out of the blue like yours went. Lots of good memories...
