It would be nice to see Houston rush the passer and be active if he's cleared. It would be a huge lift against Drew Brees. He doesn't have to start just use him on some pass rush downs and get him used to playing and see how his knee feels afterwards. But I trust Andy and this staff with injuries.

My first thought reading the article as well. Never actually says who it is, and with the author, who knows what the coaching staff actually said to him. And while it says by the Jacksonville game it seems that it's what they want, not that he will be starting then "at the latest!". He isn't reading something crazy into it. Like you said, could have been worded different.

We all know that they're going to put Houston in as soon as they're sure his knee can take it. Just like with Charles.
I doubt they're putting any timeline on his return other than "ASAP".

But even at this point Charles is being handled carefully. If there actually is anything to his knee swelling, that could caution them with Houston even more. If they ease him back it could be the CAR game or later before we see him for a large portion of snaps.
