Ben Affleck's best moment, and it wasn't in the film itself, but the DVD commentary

"Why did they train oil drillers to become astronauts, instead of training astronauts to drill holes?"

Glad you got something out of it though.

I was a fan of the Asimov trilogy but knew going in that the film was going to be drastically different, so it didn't bother me.

I thought the performances, especially Alan Tudyk as Sonny, were very good. There haven't been many sci-fi movies in the past decade that were worth a crap, so I give it a C+.

Off topic, I'm really looking forward to The Orville and Netflix's Lost in Space, which has an excellent cast and will be dramatic sci-fi, not comedy.

Galaxy Quest is back in development at Amazon, so the tide may be turning.

Seriously, many of the old ones are comically bad now. I watched part of one of the Moore movies recently (can't remember which one) and was amazed by how cheesy and awful it was.

The only Bond movie in my collection is the Craig version of Casino Royale.

Mike Myers effectively killed the Bond series with Austin Powers, although it's been somewhat redeemed by Daniel Craig, even though Quantum of Solace and Spectre were disappointing.

4 & 5 were ****ing badass. 2 and 3 aren't worth watching.

Jeremy Renner was a nice addition to the team.

I wouldn't know.

Seriously, making Jim Phelps a traitor would be like a Hogan's Heroes movie where Hogan ends up being a gestapo agent and Newkirk saves the day.

Yeah, I wasn't the biggest fan of the revisionist history in that film and two and three to me were nowhere near as good as the first.

But my dad told me to check out 4, so I watched it on Amazon Prime and was blown away. 5 was great, too. Cruise doing his own stunts just gives the series even more realism and without giving anything away, there's an insanely intense scene in 4 that's set in Dubai that's mind blowing.

I think if you go in thinking it's just a different series altogether, you might enjoy them.

Or not. :D

I remember only making it through 20 minutes of Bio-Dome, it was awful.

I've tried three times to get through Batman and Robin. Just can't do it.

Another recent movie that I thought insulted my intelligence was Olympus Has Fallen. Now, I love a mindless action movie, but that was just so ****ing implausible from start to finish that I actually was offended at its stupidity.

White House down is not better. I can't remember which is which but they're both bad.

I fell asleep in theater during Matrix Reloaded.

They should have stopped after the first one.

Broken Arrow. Cheesy and horrid.
