I think if caught stealing streaming services in USA you should lose the right to be able to have internet. You are effectively banned.

Man why you gotta be a narc?

I mostly watch stuff on Netflix (and at least some Prime content has commercials, which is annoying given you're already paying for it), so I'm not sure I'd really miss it.

I don't have Prime, but I do buy a lot from Amazon. When a purchase goes through it will give a delivery day of 4-5 days. I'd say 95% of the time I'll get an email the next day saying "Your items will be delivered early." It then shows up in the 2-3 day window.

Anyone with a wife has prime, regardless if they know about it or not

People don't see the victim in stealing digital material because it isn't tangible. Streaming video or pirating music is seen as "sticking it to the man" and fighting the "evil corporations." Lot of people have the mentality that they deserve or have the right to these things because of "reasons."

It's the same with sharing accounts outside of your immediate family for Netflix, Prime, etc..

Companies don't help themselves though with constant rate increases without increasing content or quality content.

The NFL in no way shape or form would see an increase in profit if illegal streams didn't exist if anything it would probably hurt their product.

I'm sure a lot of people simply don't care about stealing, like you alluded to... but I think a lot of people find the bullshit to be overly ridiculous and don't want to deal with it.

I didn't personally share music in college because "**** evil corporations", I did it because the industry was painfully slow to adjust from buying entire albums. Once I was able to buy a 99 cent song and the later use services like Pandora and Spotify, I did that instead.

I also don’t stream sports because I want to stick it to the NFL (however, also **** the NFL)... leagues still have ridiculously outdated blackout rules and on top of that, the solution to jacked up costs of cable was streaming services. Great! Oh, but now we'll force you to use 5 different streaming services and you still have to abide by our reerunedly outdated blackout policies... oh, and ESPN or other channels might just go away because contracts are up and **** the consumer.

I used to pay $90/month for tons of sports channels and loved it... but, now that I'm out of state and need Prime one weekend and YouTubeTV the next and Peacock the next.... yeah, I'll stream sometimes.

They can't have it both ways... either they work WITH consumers to make it easy to watch their stuff, or of course people will get pissed if they constantly feel ****ed over.

The NFL wants it both ways... "**** you, you're going to follow all these rules and pay all this money and will still be blacked out sometimes"... oh, why are you mad?

I WANT to give them money to watch every Chiefs game live.. **** them for jumping through so many hoops to make that possible.

I used to wonder what it was like inside the Chiefs/Chris Jones negotiation room.

This thread is probably a good representation of it.

Have you ever asked anyone if they would download a car?

My retort,

Why the **** am I paying premium for digital content? Video games for instance cost $70 and use MY internet to deliver (something I pay for) oh did I mention they advertise in those games?

Same thing with NFL streaming, if I’m going to ****ing pay for a service and you’re still going to advertise shit to me without paying me to watch….

Also last time I checked the NFL received tax payer money.

Long rant don’t read

Mecca 08-31-2023 08:21 AM

In reality with the explosion of digital purchasing, video game prices should be lower.

I'll be the first to admit that I stream the games and have for years. Mainly because I'm cheap and, as others have said, I don't want or need a bunch of subscriptions to watch one game a week. If they do somehow manage to block all illegal streams, I still wouldn't buy all that crap. I'd simply do what I did before and support the local watering hole to watch the game. Either way, the NFL won't get my money. I buy enough in Chiefs gear, so I don't feel bad about it at all
