I've been there twice. It's pretty cool except if you sit up high watching the cars go around that little track will put you to sleep. You just keep rotating your head in a circle and next thing you know your passing out from it.

NASCAR needs to step in and get the lap cars under control. They need to tell them to either stay high or stay low when fast cars are approaching to pass them -

Fast cars going 3-wide with a shaky filler in the middle is going to cause a huge wreck.

Donte' Stallworth in stable condition

MIAMI -- NFL free agent Donte Stallworth was hospitalized Saturday with serious burns after the hot air balloon carrying him and two other people crashed into power lines, his agent said. The 10-year NFL veteran won't suffer any permanent damage from the accident in Homestead, said Drew Rosenhaus, Stallworth's agent.

"He's going to be OK. He has some burns, but he's going to be fine," Rosenhaus said. "He will be able to continue his NFL career. The injuries are not to the extent they will jeopardize his career."

The basket carrying three hot air balloon passengers crashed into the power lines while airborne, according to Miami-Dade Police spokesman Roy Rutland.

Two passengers were injured and transported to a trauma center, Rutland said. A third passenger in the basket was not injured. A source close to Stallworth told ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss that one of the passengers, Stallworth's girlfriend, is in stable condition.

drivers push the boundaries. they must come back down pit road for a pass through penalty. i'm not sure if nascar has a limit on speeding infractions per driver. i don't think they do.

I don't get that either. Bristol is on my top 5 racetracks you would think the stands would be packed.

Well the gouging the hotels do and the price of gas, with an economy coming out of a recession sure isn't helping. Im truthfully just tired of the all the commercials.

according to reports, it has to do with the track's reconfiguration back in the late 2000's. they complain the track is not that aggressive anymore.

I remember reading an article that a lot of fans didn't like the change and refused to go out there. I actually thought it was martinsville track but i get those two tracks mixed up.

I was never a big fan of his, but I think the "Bristol is the greatest thing ever" perception coincided with the career of Dale Earnhardt. You just tuned in to see what he was going to do, good or bad.

Yup, that one was nuts. I think they had the same scenario at a later Bristol race and Labonte still won it, backwards and wrecked.
