I don't think he's nearly as good at getting open on short and intermediate routes.

Bowe could be a 100-catch guy in the right offense.

Let's face it, that's only about 1 more catch per game compared to last year.

Or maybe he was surrounded by other talented receivers, TE's and RB's who took opportunities away from him while Bowe has been pretty much the only, or one of few options this team has had during his short career.

The other scenario is far more believable.

Bowe has a record of playing with complete shit at QB. How could you NOT project insane stats for a player like him in a good offense?

LOL. So now the argument is "there was nobody else to throw to, so no wonder he had such big numbers".

That is irrelevant.

The point is, there is no question that VJ at that contract is far better value than what we are "guessing" on what Bowe is currently demanding.

With even just a "good" quarterback, Baldwin, Jackson and Breaston are a damn good set of receivers.

Good enough to field a top 10 offense, for sure.

Here's something else to consider:

You want a WR with a bad attitude who has REAL me-first problems and who should not be trusted as a reliable teammate?

Vincent. Jackson.

Total speculation.

You have absolutely NO idea of whether or not the Chiefs will pursue a QB in the draft, nor are you aware of Dorsey or Albert's perceived market value.

What we DO know is that the Chiefs have ample cap space in order to sign Dwayne Bowe, which should have been the priority. He's more important than Albert or Dorsey.

Again, you're speculating. As I mentioned earlier, "overpaying" Bowe by even $2 million per year essentially means nothing, especially to a team that's extremely far under the cap this year and will see an increase of approximately $18 million in 2014.

If the Chiefs wanted the deal, it would have been done.

Hardly speculation. Even if we keep Cassel his cap number goes up by about $4 million alone next year. Quinn is also not signed for next year. If you want to believe Pioli we're not that far under the cap either. Dorsey's current contract is incentive laden. Brandon Albert had a very cheap contract the last 5 years, average of $650 yearly that was backloaded and a $2.5 million signing bonus. Top flight left tackles demand much more than that.

Yeah, but his QB threw a lot more passes.

A lot more.

Also: Steve Breaston, Tony Gonzalez and Jamaal Charles.

Bowe would rape so much with Rivers and especially Ben. All Handbowenana would know is ball, good........and rape.

It's absolutely relevant.

It's like the guy that wants a house at the same price as the short sale that just sold a few doors down.

Buyer: "Hey, it's the same house and went for X amount less".
Agent: "That home is no longer available".

Vincent Jackson is no longer available, so Dwayne Bowe will go for market value. And his value will be markedly higher than Vincent Jackson. If the Chiefs wanted to pay a receiver Vincent Jackson numbers, they should have signed Vincent Jackson.

I remember in '08 when Gonzo wouldn't stop bitching because Thigpen wouldn't so much as look his way.

Good example of how Bowe has benefited.

I haven't seen one "go **** your mother" yet, so let's not go overboard here. So far, lots of hard singles, and I'm waiting for extra bases.

Bowe's new nickname:

Apparently, you don't understand the meaning of the word "speculation":

Definition of Speculation
: Assumption of unusual business risk in hopes of obtaining commensurate gain

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/speculation

Your entire post is speculation and predicated on what Pioli, Dorsey and Albert "might" do. Nearly every Chief fan speculated that with so much room under the cap, both Bowe and Carr would be re-signed. Once Carr was signed by Dallas, most Chiefs fans expected Bowe to re-signed. And once again, we were fooled.

The bottom line is that no one knows what Pioli has planned because he's making very odd moves with this roster. And once again, the salary cap goes up approximately $18 million in 2014, and with so many players already extending their contracts, there will be an abundance of cap room in the future, 99% of which must be spent.

It would be a shame (and a sham) if Pioli chooses to spend it on Albert and Dorsey, while allowing Bowe and Carr to walk.
