LMAO

It's odd that a beast like Jones has the online persona of a single mom who sells Scentsy and has a relationship status of "it's complicated".

Smart for him to use it financially

again, what is his leverage?

Red Dawg 08-11-2023 12:18 PM

We just won the SB. Jones has no leverage and is still under contract for 20 mil. Only the Rams were stupid enough to hand an old DT a blank check.

I personally think CJ is playing with fire. Maybe you could say he is betting on himself BUT unless he has the same or better type of season as last year how can he argue for his current asking price? A year older and less production won't get him his money and could end up getting him less than what Veach is offering now. Just ask OBJ how it turned out to him!

They’d like to go back to back. Probably tough to do that without your best defensive player but I’ve been wrong a lot before

Well giving up less than 24pts on defense in only 48 games out of around 80 is a little disturbing in itself though.

It's an area we can improve but doesn't seem all that crazy given the circumstances.

The rules to favor offenses are getting out of hand, but a more important factor is having Mahomes on our sideline. Our defense is getting offense's best shots week in and week out. They know they can't come in here and win without dropping 30+ so they're having to face aggressive gameplans more frequently than the average squad.

I don't want to make excuses but..

Does anyone other than the Simply Red stooges find these posts funny?

I actually still find myself chuckling at them from time to time.

Even if I don't, they're never very long so they're easy to pass over.

He kinda turned into a bit of a bitch when the Chiefs cut Frank Clark

Chris Jones isn't playing for anyone but the Chiefs this year

Agreed.

Also, TB, LAR and SF were stricken with several injuries to key players, turning all of them from a potential playoff contenders to relatively easy pushovers. What was predicted to be one of the toughest slates became a parade of preseason level contests.

He plays the wrong position to be holding out for money

I agree that they're easy to pass over but man every single chiefs thread has become that. Just look at the TC threads. There's barely any good chiefs discussions anymore and my two favorite chiefs posters (DJsLeftNut and TK13) have barely discussed the chiefs this off-season so the combination of the two has really sucked the fun out of reading Chiefs related threads on this forum.

That's my issue with it too. You see the the day's training camp thread and it's 4 pages or so long, so you're thinking "ok cool there must finally be some news" and then you open the thread and half the posts are just nonsense.

Maybe it was sorta funny the first few times, but has long since run it's course.

one contract turning into 3 isn't "big money"

He’s betting that hitting the open market in a year will get him a better deal than the Chiefs are offering now. He’s probably right.

OBJ kinda sucked and most of the league acknowledged that. Not the case here.
