Yeah, I'm not buying it.

Even if they front loaded every bonus they wrote last year, I can't see them getting to $110M cap and cash.

And even if they did, that money is spent. Would have had to been all one-year payouts to shell out that kinda cash, wouldn't it?

So Barber doesn't have to go through waivers. Maybe some good shit coming down the pike we don't know about...reaching

We sign guys like Thomas Jones and Ryan Lilja who are good players and decent signings, but players who we didn't have much competition for. If either player had another team who was putting up much competition to sign them I doubt we would have signed them. The Chiefs have shown that they will not be competitive for other highly sought after free agents on the market.

Get used to it, dude.

I wouldn't be surprised if our first signing is someone that was cut from another team.

How many great players have agreed to change teams via the pre free agency today? To the best of my recollection, the number is currently zero.

Why in god's name would Rice want to go to Seattle or stay with the Vikings?

He should be going to St. Louis.

rocknrolla 07-26-2011 09:00 PM

We are dealing with the most secure place in the country at Arrowhead one. We won't know shit until Friday when we can actually sign any FA's.

I understand that. I don't know, I guess part of me feels the Chiefs owe their fans after having one of the lowest payrolls the past two seasons. They want every game to be sold out? Then show fans that you are serious about winning.

I'm of the belief that a team should add talent in any ways possible, whether it is the draft or free agency. Sure, most great teams build through the draft. That is fine. But what's to say they can't also use free agency to fill holes and add some real talent? To avoid signing a player simply because you didn't draft him just doesn't make sense. Not being competitive in free agency when plenty of other teams do puts us at a disadvantage.
