As for MN, he demonstrated that he's an effective OC. Along these same lines, I believe RAC is a pretty damn DC, and I don't want him coaching my team either. Again, I'm not suggesting the hire would be disastrous. Billick is qualified enough to raise the organization from the dust. But I'll return to one of the recent statements: Cowher would be a vastly superior option, and advocating Billick ahead of the Chin (and decrying him, for some) is hypocrisy. |

I CLEARLY STATED that, in the context of discussing Cowher, Gruden, and Billick, I prefer Billick. I DO NOT WANT BILLICK. But if a retread is what we are going to get, he's the best of the bunch. |

I hear what you're saying, but what I get from today is that Clark has viewed the HC position as the most important, and he's going to build it around there. |

Hey, if Pioli ends up being good with letting Hunt hold his dick when he pisses, perhaps Billick would return to the role he excelled at, OC. |

I'm not after nebulous generalities here - what did you see in Baltimore that tells you he's not a good coach? He's a proven winner with an offensive pedigree and defensive bona fides. He has exactly the kind of attitude you want to see from a HC in that his players liked him and respected/feared him. He's won with different styles and adapted his schemes to his personnel. What exactly makes you say that he can't be a routine winner in KC if he gets the QB that he's said he wants? Especially when he's shown that he can win on occasion even if he can't get that QB. |

Probably Cowher in a squeaker because of the sustained success and the fact that he also did it with different styles/systems and with different QBs. Getting to a SB with O'Donnell, winning a couple with Ben and going to AFC championship games with Slash and Tommy Maddox in between is pretty damn impressive. So yeah, I'd prefer Cowher if given my druthers, though I think Billick would probably be a little better in player personnel decisions. |
