Psst.

Shaffys are in the constellation of dogs considered pit bulls.

"However, they're known for being loyal, playful, and good-natured with their families. They do well in households that have plenty of time for canine interaction, play, and exercise."

That being said, I will never allow her to be alone with my grand kids.

"Sometimes nicknamed the ‘nanny dog’, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is one of the Kennel Club’s top recommended breeds for families with young children. ‘Staffs are great family dogs,’ says Ali. ‘Many breeds tend to bond with one individual, but Staffs bond with the entire family. They love everyone equally, with equal enthusiasm!’'

The black and white one is our Staffy.

My vicious pit bull is a Staffy/Cane Corso mix, so he’s just under 100 pounds. 8 years old and still thinks he’s a puppy. I took him everywhere the first year and he’s completely socialized.

We should send all the pits to El Salvador.

Almost got attacked the other day running. Owner was able to heel him just in time and even fell down from the force of the dog going for me. Other than kicking them in the head what is the plan? Since dogs are stupid and like to chase things. Eventually someones dog will see me running and wont be leashed and get me.

Not going to be popular, but the only real option is to take force that may be lethal to the dog. If the owner struggles to handle the dog with force and commands, doubtful a whack in the head from your soft toe shoe will do much. People need to remember a dog doesn't have the same right to life as you do. Dogs don't have the intellectual capability to distinguish between lethal and non-lethal force. If they can get their jaws around your neck they will. So the only real option to deal with a dog attack from a breed that can kill you is to respond with lethal force.

This is the way.

It's what my son had to do when someone's precious family pet attacked him. With little fluffy trying to rip a chunk out of his thigh he pounded it in the head a few times. Didn't work! That's when he started gouging one of its eyes out. It let go of him then and decided to go back to the front porch it was sitting on to begin with.

I guess my son was asking for it. Everyone knows better than to walk on your neighborhood sidewalk.

Most apex predators will protect their eyes at all costs, even big sharks. Losing an eye means compromised hunting skills and that can lead to starvation and death. Always go for the eyes.

Yeah, rescues are a gamble. This dog did show signs of aggression leading up to this. The guy just ignored them. :shake:
