Dusty Blake brings nothing. I don't know if he's a bad pitching coach but I know he ain't a GOOD pitching coach. But he was a 'smartest guy in the room' hire from Mozeliak. "Look at this obscure college coach who's done nothing to demonstrate he should have a big league job - I'm gonna look BRILLAINT!" He's not leaving. Turner Ward should have his bags packed. 2021 assistant; had success with the Dodgers and Reds prior to that. Marmol seems to like him but it just doesn't matter much since he's not a 'find' from Mozeliak. Just a retread that knew Goldschmidt back in the day. He's almost certainly gone. They'll probably just replace him with Brandon Allen since he came from the minor league system. He'll be cheap and do what he's told. Joe McEwing would be smart to find a new job. Mozeliak might just fire him before he quits so he can 'show accountability' in the organization. Julio Rangel is the Assistant Pitching/Bullpen coach - sorry guy, Dusty Blake's not going anywhere and the pitching staff sucked dicks, so you're gone. Stubby Clapp probably gets promoted to replace McEwing. |

Or they'll try something like bringing back a former Cardinal, it worked with Skip. Maybe Eckstein or Bo Hart |

And they know Stubby's phone number. Never underestimate how lazy Mozeliak is. If he has to Google to get ahold of Eckstein or Hart, meanwhile he can just tell H.R. to let Stubby know he got promoted, he's going to go with the latter option every time. |

If he changed his nickname to scrappy clapp mo would promote him by the end of the week.

At least since they were cooked by tax day I didn't have to spend any emotional energy on them. Better than some 88-74 team that gets bombed out in the wildcard round.

Thomas Saggese and Luken Baker make the first team of the 2023 MiLB All-Prospect Team.

If it's strictly a minor league production award, it's deserved. |

He had shown pop before, but this is a huge uptick for him this year. We have options if we want to trade Goldy and Arenado, just not sure if we could ever dream to get back a fair return with our FO. |

Goldschmidt clearly aged and hit the wall last season to the point of being a barely average starting 1b. Arenado spent most of the season pouting and playing beneath his talent level. With the number of years on his deal coming off a bad season, his value is about nil. The time to tear it down was at the dealing when Arenado was on fire and Goldy still seemed to have some gas in the tank. We didn't have to stones to do it when there was actual value to get in return. We certainly won't do it now. It's a stupid organization that needs to burn to the ground before progress can be made. |
Remember when the Cardinals were in the playoffs last year and didn't even pitch Jordan Montgomery?
