Kyle Shannahan is the best possible coach for Geno at the next level. Geno would thrive in the ole Shannahan system.

Geno Smith going to a team with 5 Pro Bowlers.
If we get the coaching hire right, that's a bunch of wins of improvement in itself. Geno is going to thrive on this team. So hard. |

I don't think I've ever pined for a player this much this early in the "process". We HAVE to take him, just have to.

Note: Maybe 4 if we get the comp pick for Carr. Since we have the 1st pick, I'm not worried about getting Geno. I'm concerned about what HC is going to be running shit. |
In other news, SNR will officially kill himself if Kirk Cousins is on this team next year, receding hairline and all.

Never been higher on a guy we have a legitimate chance at than Geno. |
If we lose to Denver i just don't see anyway that Geno Smith isn't the pick.
His season was good and his physical abilities will make his stock rise not fall leading up to the draft. Even if a new GM wants a WCO guy ... i just don't see how they could possibly take Barkley over Smith. Imo there is no comparison. |

Even still....GENO or BUST! |
So over the last few days I have watched as much video on Geno as I could possibly find. I'm on board as he seems promising. One thing I really like...the dude stands in the pocket and makes the throws regardless of what is in his face. I love the fact that he steps into his throws and is not throwing off his back foot ala Cassell.
I was initially concerned that this guy would remind me of Aaron Brooks. I still have some concerns of him being Brooks-like but I see no way the Chiefs can't take a chance on him. He throws the ball with good velocity and seems to be pretty accurate with his throws. Did I mention he steps into his throws with pressure in his face! KC fans need someone to bring hope and excitement...think this guy could be the ticket. Now don't screw it up Clark! |
I like geno. I'm not in love with him like you guys. He seems to have problems when he doesn't throw it to the first receiver in his progression. Some of this is mAsked by the system where he throws the ball quickly without a read. His athletic ability also covers up this problem. He can scramble and make plays. I like a lot a out him, but I do question that part of his game.

I don't have anymore confidence in Barkley or Wilson to make that jump any better than Smith. Who knows? Hell ... you never know what is going to happen with a guy like RGIII either. When he has to stop running and starting reading he could struggle too. |

Darth Riots....Chiefs lose, the 1st pick and Geno is ours if they aren't total reeruns.

Has anybody else watched the Geno vs Maryland game? Some really impressive stuff in that game. I encourage everyone to watch the entire 2012 season of Geno.

Kirk Cousins has that total slapdick douche look. He's like a balding Cassel.

Geno runs a 4.95 40? Not that it matters...

It doesn't really matter...I like someone having Andrew Luck speed at QB but Peyton Manning, Eli Manning and Tom Brady do just fine without it.
As long as he moves in the pocket good like Tony Romo I don't care if my QB has 4.4 speed. |
There is no ****ing way Geno runs a 4.95. Dude is easily gonna run a 4.7 at least. Wouldn't be surpised to see 4.6
|
that's what I figured...
surprised to see that list where they had his 40 speed at 4.95 |

I'm thinking a 4.7 is a reasonable guess. |

If we lose to the Donks, we got the pick. If both the Chiefs and Jaguars win, we still get the pick. |

His legs and movement are used to avoid pressure and move into open spaces to pass. He's never going to be a downfield runner like Vick or RG3 - that's not his game. |

I feel like he is already a Chief...

JFC we're gonna have to get a good offensive coach in here who can work with Geno should we draft him.
1 time he threw to his 2nd read the entire ****ing clip only because he absolutely had to. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/LZCPd5u6f3c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Thanks for the replies guys.
Perfect day it falls on as well since i don't have anything planned i'll be tuning in for sure. |
I haven't posted in this thread yet, but I've been with Geno for awhile. I want the best QB available, and that's who I think it is, but as long as we take whatever QB we think is best #1 I won't be unhappy.
I still talk to Chiefs fans who think we should get Teo or Star, or trade down. I just don't ****ing understand. These people can not be this stupid. It's plainly obvious that our draft needs to go: 1: BQBA 2: BPA 3: BPA 4: BPA 5: BPA etc. **** all that other bullshit. This team isn't as bad as it's record, but it's not nearly as good as some Chiefs fans would like to think either. |

I agree about BPA after the BQBA...but if we take an OL with our 2nd or 3rd rounder this year I'm going to be irritated

Need an av sized version that all the Geno backers can proudly sport. We can spot out the unbelievers and begin the cleansing of the board.

Is the Pinstripe bowl still where both team's offense play towards the same end of the field due to lack of room in one endzone?

I'm not saying Weis is a fantastic coach or anything, but Holgorson is pretty damn shitty. |
I read the comments on the Facebook post of the geno pick. One moron thought we should trade the number one pick for Alex smith and another suggested we draft Colin Klein. How can people be that stupid?
