FWIW.....I haven't really read shit in this thread except answers to the questions that I post. Half of the shit that I glance over....I have no clue what you guys are talking about.

Seriously though.....that was it for the Red Viper? I was expecting more of a badass.

And JMO....but Dany's chapters are getting boring quick. Kind of disappointed there.

The Red Viper was a badass. He beat Gregor in a one on one battle. Sure he lost in the end due to his own arrogance, but in the actual fighting, he owned Gregor. There are not a lot of people that could beat Gregor in a one on one fight.

And even though the Red Viper died, he got revenge for his sister and her kids by causing Gregor to suffer horribly for a long period of time by using a poisoned spear. There are also theories that he was poisoning Tywin Lannister which is why Tywin was in the restroom in the middle of the night and why his body stank so bad at his funeral.

I think most readers agree with you that the "Dany is trying to rule and is in love with Daario" chapters are kinda dull (other than lesbian sex which is always fun!). The Mereen story does not really get good again after book three until you get to the last part of book 5. Assuming you aren't there yet, I won't go into detail, but you'll know when they get interesting again.

And just be aware that Books 4 and 5 are more set up and less action than book 3. They have things ready for Book 6 to be just as good as Book 3 was, but Books 4 and 5 can drag in parts unless you try to get yourself interested in the amazing detail and interwoven clues that GRRM puts in there.

After reading them, you should go to the Tower of the Hand website and look through some of their essays about books 4 and 5. Lots of good stuff that you will have missed (nobody picks up on all of it in one reading).

I loved that whole scene. I mean Tywin purposely had Tyrion'e wife, the one girl that has truly loved Tyrion in his whole life, raped by 50 men and then by Tyrion himself. Can you imagine how you would feel if that were your wife? Then Tyrion finds out Tywin is screwing Shae after constantly threatening Tyrion about whores and after Shae turned on and humiliated Tyrion. It is an utter and complete betrayal of Tyrion on so many levels by those two. But Tyrion gets his sweet revenge, and I enjoyed the hell out of it.

I think I disagree. It's hard to hate a broken man, one can't help but just feel pity at that point. A slow death at the height of a degenerate evil piece of shit being evil is better, IMO.

I hated GRRM for making me feel bad for Theon. I've expressed the same worry about Cersei once her fate started changing, but I don't think it's going to happen like that after all.
