810 is reporting Keotter and ATL's ST coach tomorrow, Ferentz on Wednesday.

Chiefs Pantalones 12-31-2012 03:28 PM

810 is full of dumbassery, don't listen to them.

"Reports" according to 810

I imagine those are the old reports coming from Albert Breer. I will have to check on this one.

So when will McDaniels be announced for a Thursday visit?

Clark to Pioli: Who should I interview?

We're really going to point to late-90s success as an OC with incredible weapons in MINN?

And they were?

Jake Reed doesn't count.

His offenses were mostly Chris Carter and scrap. He didn't have Moss until his last season in Minnesota. He was leading one of the most prolific offenses in football with little more than the dried up husk of Warren Moon, the flat tires of Robert Smith and Chris Carter.

He had considerably less to work with in Minnesota than Dabol had to work with in KC this season for 80% of his tenure in Minn and he put up offenses that ranked in the top 1/3 of the league in 3 of those 4 seasons.

C'mon - Billick knew his shit and I don't think he just forgot it.

Lots of people were reporting the two ATL interviews well before Clark hit the airwaves.

What exactly makes you say that he can't be a routine winner in KC if he gets the QB that he's said he wants? Especially when he's shown that he can win on occasion even if he can't get that QB.

Because he wasn't a routine winner in Baltimore, and he was always chasing the QB.

Furthermore, I believe that offensive brilliance isn't necessarily the easiest trait to transcend for head coaches. What I mean by this is that being a great OC, which Billick has shown he is, is about being cerebral. Head coaches must necessarily be involved in too many other facets, and thus his expertise on the offensive side doesn't get to surface as much.

Hell, look at his time in Baltimore. The knock was always that his offense underachieved and that it was a team carried by its defense.

Bad year, good year. Rinse, repeat. Schedule champions with no playoff success.

I might get crucified I don't know. what does everyone think of Bruce Arians? The guy is an offensive guy, and proved this year in pagano's absence he can coach a winning football team. I dont know many details on the guy other than the basics. Figure somebody on here could at least tell me why its a bad idea.

I like Arians as an option - he's done a great job leading those guys under very novel/trying circumstances.

I figure my list of 'acceptable' guys goes about 6 deep and he's definitely on it.

1. Arians
2. Reid
3. Everyone else

I'd hire Billick as my OC. HC, probably not but he's a competent guy as far as understanding how to attack defenses IMO. Good teacher too, from what I've heard.

mcaj22 12-31-2012 03:33 PM

My concern about Arians is what happens when they don't have tragedy to rally around.

Much like Pioli here, people in Pittsburgh were willing to load and drive his U-Haul for years.
