We have a different directive now. Win a Super Bowl. Alex is not the guy to do that.

But he was a good guy to stabilize our franchise which was badly needed at that time. He outlived that purpose probably around last year. And the Chiefs went out and aggressively went after his replacement. So the team seems to recognize that meaningless wins aren't enough. As long as they understand that, I don't have a problem with Alex being the transition guy.

Just because I disagree with people who talk about Alex Smith like he is the worst QB of all-time doesn't mean I can't talk about football on an internet message board.

Hes not the worse of all time... Hes just not "the guy" that has "IT" to lead a team in the playoffs... Like what I did there. Threw out some lame cliches...

12 years in the league and what 2 playoff wins? Nah, thanks Alex, but were done here...
