They look like a great fantasy BB team.

I feel that way too w/ Mizzou. Never a happy ending. Literally never.

But goddamnit... one of these days. And it'll be all the sweeter because of the suffering.

I have to look at it that way, because I'm a lifer. Same thing with the Chiefs.

I understand that sentiment.

I don't know if anything could be as bad as Game 6 of the 2011 WS was good, but **** me for effort. Tyus Edney, the Flea Kicker, Norfolk State, Lin Elliot, No Punts, and many, many others outweigh any other win I can recall.

The worst part about sports is the feeling of eminent hopelessness coupled with emotional investment. And few things are more discouraging than rooting for teams that you KNOW in your heart of hearts will **** you but you can't emotionally divorce them.

I understand the argument that says, "if you have no hope in them, how can they disappoint you?" Perhaps some of that comes from the fact that as much as I don't believe in them, I part of me always believes, which explains my own competitive streak, but ****ing kills me whenever control is not in my hands.

I've always handled my own defeats far better than the defeats of others I care about simply because I have no hand in the matter.

Always good to see another Bearcat

Last year was probably the best team Mizzou put on the floor in the 40 some odd years I've watched them play. This team, not so much

No way, dude. The 93-4 team was light years ahead of last year's team.
