Great scene at the end in the bar. Seeing the brilliance that is Michael Raymond James made me miss the criminally underseen Terriers. Someday that guy is gonna be a star. maybe Donal Logue will show up later in the season.

The coolest thing about AMC HD is that we get the East Coast broadcast times, so I get the show at 6 pm. I'm recording it, but I'll probably watch it at 7:30 or 8:00 instead of having to wait til 9 and it also frees up my DVR to record other Sunday shows.

I was a little disappointed in that episode being another gripe fest drama, but then I saw the bar scene. Yeah... wow! That was cool. A bit of a surprise, but cool... BTW -> The comic and the show are officially different worlds in terms of the story and who these characters are. Which is actually kind of cool in that everyone will be surprised regardless of reading the comic, but I'll certainly miss them doing a few key things that it seems like they're not going to do.

Awesome so far. The kid on the fence... Isn't he the one from rescue me?

Another Great one tonight.

Glad to see Herschel stepping up his game. He shot the black guy, didn't seem too bothered when the zombies ripped him apart, referred to the zombies as 'walkers', tried to get Rick to leave the kid that was stuck on the fence, then stood up to Shane at the farm.

Meanwhile Rick reverted back to his pussy ways. "Yeah, you're buddies in here are dead. Sorry, we had no choice. Could you just kindly leave us alone?". Horse shit. Then he tried to save the douchebag kid that was just shooting at them. I'd have Shane's mindset if I were in that situation. The shit Rick does puts them too much at risk.

Latest episode was badass. Glenn heading out back scene really worried me. Rick/Shane controversy heating up. Unfortunately, the biznatch Laurie is getting all sketchy and fueling the feud.

Sitting through Comic Book Men, anxiously awaiting my sneak peek of next weeks episode.

p.s. Herschel is becoming a badass.

Okay, kind of a weak preview for next week. Compared to others where they've showed a lot of action. Shows Rick kind of "mentoring" Shane on a more suttle, but still badass approach to zombie killing than going at it guns blazing. Kind of like the Father and son cow. Son says, lets run down there and **** that cow. Father says, lets walk down, and **** 'em all.

Quiet, effective and still conserves ammo. Rick is becoming more badass daily.

I don't see the kid as a danger. His own compadres left him for dead. They showed what little loyalty they had and I'm sure his is gone as well. Meanwhile, Rick and crew saved him from a certain death, and while they nurse him back to health, he'll certainly take to their kind, selfless ways.

Sounds to me like you and Shane belong in the group that left the kid behind in the first place. :p

LOL! No, not that. Obviously Shane is psychotic. He went too far by killing Otis and threatening to take over the farm. At the same time, Rick is way too compassionate. Truthfully, they're both liabilities in leading the survivors in some way. Rick is likely to get people killed for being too kind while I wouldn't put it past Shane to sacrifice a few to save the entire group.

As for the kid, I agree. He has no idea where the farm is and I doubt he'll feel any need to maintain his loyalty to his old group. The issue was the time they spent trying to get him off the fence with walkers crawling all over the place. He put Glenn, Herschel and himself in danger for a boy that was just shooting at them. Based on the two that Rick killed in the bar did he think the kid deserved that type of compassion? He tried reasoning with the two, then he tried reasoning with the others that came looking for them and ended up getting shot at both times.

I'd have put a bullet in his brain then took off, and he'd be lucky to even get that.

you know...as way out there as Shane is...I have a hard time faulting him for killing Otis. I put myself in his shoes and pretend it's my son I'm trying to save and I think rather than die and fail...and know my son dies too...Otis has gotta go! he was moving too slow, he was wounded, only a matter of time before they caught him anyways...poor bastard. I'd sacrifice anything for my kids.

PS - Glen is a pussy. he is now on my nerves more than Lori. he stood there with a shotgun in the bar scene and did nothing. then acted in the same fashion tonight.

First of all, Carl is not Shane's child and no matter how "close" he believes he is to him, he'll never know what it's like when it is your very own child.

As for Glen, well, his old lady just told him he's a leader and they treat him like he's "Walker Bait" and this was just reaffirming that he has leadership qualities, but is not a natural leader. I don't fault him, it's easy to say you'd handle it a certain way. He froze, it'd happen to most of us. He's still a badass in my book.

This was the best episode in a long time. There was suspense and tension and real plot/character development. A+++++.

Also, the zombie coming through the windshield was just raw. What a great gruesome moment,. The only bad part was that Lori survived. I will say Lori manipulating Rick at the end was horrible and awesome at the same time.

Pretty much epic episode.

Mi_chief_fan 02-20-2012 07:08 AM

Looks like Rick & Shane are finally gonna tangle next week. I have a feeling one of them will end up killing off the other. I think we should start a pool, who dies first in next week's episode.
