Yep, sounds like a bad drive.

Mine will probably succumb to this problem at some point. Also...if there are any Left 4 Dead fans here....it appears it'll be cheaper than $60: http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/Prod...oduct_id=65253 http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...xart-small.jpg |

Dangit. I called the hotline, they said I have to send it in for work. First one died due to RROD, this is my 2nd. Fortunately, its still covered by the warranty.
What a horrible product. But I still love it. |
They shouldnt break like that, but one should be able to handle no gaming for a week and a half. Then again, i got a ps3 for back ups. lol

Does a warranty really matter? I mean I am pretty sure mine expired. I just called up Microsoft - got some verification numbers and whatnot. My disc drive failed - I sent it to Microsoft and got it fixed. So, do warranties really matter?

I have seriously been considering reporting a failure so I can get a new 360. I've had this one for quite a while now; about time for it to go tits-up. "Pre-emptive service replacement" ;) |

Could always try though. When i got the RROD, mine wouldnt red ring all the time, i would be able to play it, but when i turned it off and tried to play later that day, i couldnt. It was all wierd. Worked when it wanted too. |

My son's 360 had the red ring of death. I looked up MS on the web, entered the serial number and found out it was still covered under their warranty. They sent me a postage paid box, I sent it back to them last Thursday and I got an email today saying it was repaired or replaced and is on its way back to us already! That is awesome. |
