If the Royals comeback you can thank me. I'm leaving to take care of my woman.

This umpire's strike zone has been spectacular tonight. Too bad its getting wasted on this shit show

Mods why are people aloud to make threads just after they get banned from threads?

Even if Hoch gets through the 6th, who do you bring out for the 7th? Morales was probably pitching at some point tonight. This is what happens when your starter can't get deep enough into the game. Somebody has to cover all those outs.

Medlen, Madson, Herrera, Davis. Morales is the only pitcher on the entire team that made absolutely no sense in that situation.

We will win it at home. Kansas City will go crazy.

Morales is the worst pitcher on the post season roster. I honestly can't remember Duffy having a bad post season so far, but w/e.

Yep, you're right, better merge them.

Gotta tell you, up close. It's surprising how irritating even one night of happiness is for Mets fans is to me.

I think you're nuts to use Herrera or Davis in any of these situations, but your mileage may vary.

I still don't think people are thinking 4th dimensionally in these situations. Okay you burn Herrera in the 6th inning. Who pitches the 7th? The 8th? Morales was probably going to pitch tonight at some point. We are going to have to play two more games after tonight without a break. You can't burn up Herrera and Davis too much tonight.

Because using Herrera and Davis for three straight nights (potentially) is ****ing genious.

ChiTown 10-30-2015 08:58 PM

It doesn't matter who we pitch tonight. They are seeing everyone really well

This is the only thing that truly upsets me about losing tonight. I think we're still in good position to win the series, but I hate to give these ****ers any daylight.

Rasputin 10-30-2015 08:59 PM

We can get 3 runs top of the 8th and get 4 runs in the 9th. That's doable.

It's just the nature of the beast. I think we still have the advantage, but if they win tomorrow night the narrative will completely shift to them... tie series and they have their three aces going again.

Apparently you don't understand the definition of a sunk cost. Bringing in Herrera when down five is throwing good money after bad. Yes, you ideally don't take Duffy out there (he shouldn't have been in yet, anyway), but given that he has already been used and that this game is effectively out of reach, why use Herrera there knowing who is starting tomorrow and what he did on Tuesday?

Nobody disagrees with your sunk cost point.

Duffy was brought in at a critical point where Ventura was imploding. He did a great job getting out of the inning without additional damage. He should've pitched a few moar innings (I think we agree that he shouldn't have been pinch hit for even if we disagree with the call to bring him into the game).

Medlen is being saved for tomorrow night. If CY isn't on his game I'd expect a quick hook with Medlen coming into throw 3+ innings.
