Lamar wanted Arrowhead to retain the Arrowhead name.Carl may not follow his wish.
From a Doug Tucker AP article:
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...MPLATE=DEFAULT In his last visit with his old friend, Steadman sat at Hunt's hospital bed for almost an hour. They reminisced about the past and spoke of the future, including vast improvements planned for Arrowhead Stadium. The 78,000-seat facility has sold out for 132 consecutive games, making the Chiefs one of the best-supported teams in the league, and Hunt intended to keep it that way. "Jack, I want you to make sure the stadium is the new Arrowhead and that people will be excited about it," Hunt told Steadman. "We owe that to the taxpayers." And the sports world owes a tremendous debt to Lamar Hunt. |

If nothing else, you can rename a section of I-70, or maybe the Blue Ridge Cutoff, just rename it Lamar Hunt Way, or Drive. I like that idea... and I figured Lamar wouldn't want the name changed.

Just by reading that small piece you could almost tell Lamar knew he wasn't going to make it. Truly sad.
I am ok with naming the field and they also need to erect a statute in his honor |

Is there anyway to possibly contact Arrowhead and propose this??? |
At least the good thing is that the name won't be sold to some dumb corporate name, at least that's the impression I'm getting as well.

The classiest thing this organization could do is not rename Arrowhead. If it's the last and only venue not to be named after a corporation or a sandwich, that would be more than fine with me.

It's going to remain Arrowhead stadium. One more gift to us Chiefs fans. |
I don't even want to refer to it as "the new Arrowhead". It should always be Arrowhead.

Retain the names.........................
Royals Stadium and Arrowhead Stadium. The sports complex should be renamed: Ewing Kauffman - Lamar Hunt Sports Complex.
If taxpayers are still offended: Ewing Kauffman - Lamar Hunt Sports Complex at Jackson Co. |
