Anybody that doesn't want Marty to take SD to the SB is an idiot

And if it happened the best thing that could happen next is when lifting the Lombardi trophy Marty says "F'you Carl" on national TV.

I'm sorta pulling for him, I guess. If he doesn't get it done this time, he needs to go live with Lin Elliot.

TrickyNicky 12-24-2006 11:27 PM

I hope he gets there alright, only to crash and burn as Drew Brees hoists the trophy.

RINGLEADER 12-24-2006 11:31 PM

Marty was very nice to me and my girlfriend when we met him. Really nice guy actually. I'm planning to go cheer them on if a) the chiefs are out of it, b) they somehow end up playing the broncos, or c) they make it to a home championship game.

I'll be happy for him if he wins, I like Marty, even though he's caused me great pain, haha. He's shot himself in the foot a few times, some other times he's just had bad luck... "the fumble".

The popular opinion seems to be that it'd be a real shot to Carl if Marty won without him. Personally, I think Carl would see that as "See, I know what I'm doing." It's obvious in hiring Herm, he wanted to go back to the 90's and the Marty days... and having the last two champs be Marty and Cowher would validate him that Martyball is the way to go.

RealSNR 12-24-2006 11:37 PM

I don't want Marty to win.

I have a wager with a friend that he won't make it past the AFC Championship game this year.

tk13 12-24-2006 11:41 PM

Well, I don't think they're a lock. Not unless Rivers starts playing better. That's not really a knock against him, he just has zero playoff experience, McNair has a ton, and the Ravens defense is playing really, really well.

UteChief 12-25-2006 12:06 AM

I would have no problem with Marty winning the SB then maybe he will retire and then unretire and we could rehire him.

Sounds like something that's been done before.

And no I'm not serious.

CoMoChief 12-25-2006 12:07 AM

Rivers will prevent that team of making the SB. He's playing too bad as of now.

jAZ 12-25-2006 12:09 AM

How the ***** did Rivers make it to the Pro-bowl? That's just stupid.

Roethlisberger wasn't exactly setting it on fire last year.

Why would Marty winning get Carl fired? I honestly don't get it. Bill Cowher won a Super Bowl last year, that didn't get Carl fired. Rich Gannon went to a Super Bowl, Neil Smith won a Super Bowl, and on and on and on.

I guess not, but it might put more pressure on him from the fanbase and media...

If it matters???

What sort of pressure has been put on him to this point? This franchise from a certain point of view has been as futile as Detroit and Arizona, and nothing has been done about it yet.

Sorry, I just don't see Carl Peterson leaving until he is damn good and ready.
