WTF, Joba can't toss his mom a few bucks so she won't have to sell drugs for a living? In fairness, maybe when he gives her money she spends it all on meth. Strange story.

Joba Chamberlain's mother is jailed in Nebraska and facing a felony charge after being arrested on suspicion of selling methamphetamine to an undercover police officer in February.

As if the DUI arrest wasn't embarrassing enough. Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs said that 44-year-old Jacqueline Standley was arrested at her apartment Saturday night. She allegedly sold one gram of a substance believed to be meth to an uncover officer for $110 on Feb. 11. The substance tested positive for meth in testing at the state laboratory.

Agree that he's probably making enough to help out the family but to be fair it's not like he's been in the league long enough to break the bank. He's probably making about $400,000, which is nothing to sneeze at but not the million dollar contract that is associated with even mediocre baseball players.

Might want to read up on his situation a bit more before you throw stones.

His mom basically abandoned him when he was younger and left his dad to raise him and his sister. She's been into drugs for years but tried to crawl back into his life once he hit it big with the Yanks.

I doubt I would give someone like that money, even if she was my biological mother.

I'm sure it's very embarrassing for him, and it just goes to show you that even wealthy stars have family problems.

She might make more money in the meth business than he does in the baseball business.

Chamberlain's Mom has been estranged from him since he was about 12. She has had no contact with him or his Dad since then.
I believe she abandoned them both. She only decided to come back into both their lives when he started to make news at Nebraska.
I guess to borrow money from him. :shake:

Even if she wasnt around, i would help her try to get over her problem if she wanted too. I wouldnt give her any money, hell no. You dont give money to drug addicts. Bad bad bad.

Anyways, it still sucks for him.
