How far will Bowers fall in your opinion ?

Mark Ingraham's latest rumors of a knee issue seems more poker play than anything but Bowers medical info on knee seems more serious and possibly legit.

With that said if Bowers falls as far as 21 to our pick does this signal his knee "IS" truly "f'd" or if Pioli's Chief Doc say's he is good do you take him?

And with that being asked does anybody know if Pioli's Doc has checked out Bowers knee in case he falls that far to us at 21? Because I think Bowers could be a 3/4 guy as well.:thumb:

Bowers isn't athletic enough to play OLB in a 3-4. He is a classic 4-3 DE.

I don't see him falling past Detroit at 13 and I definitely don't see him getting past the Buccaneers.

BossChief 04-16-2011 05:03 PM

I could see him falling more than that. I wouldnt be a bit surprised if he was there at our pick because he is basically a one year wonder that brings serious injury baggage.

With this DL class, he could slip quite a bit (maybe even all the way to Atlanta) because there are a lot of comparable players without the baggage in this class.

Clayborn
Heyward
Smith
Houston
Watt
Jordan
Dareus
Miller
Quinn
Fairley
Liuget
Kerrigan

I mean, damn...that has to be either the best DL class of all time or at least in the conversation.

The question is why would you take a guy with a major injury red flag (and only a one year producer) if you can select another guy at your pick that has a higher floor and a ceiling that is close?

I had to read the thread title twice.

And isn't this draft supposed to be really deep at DL? Could that along with the worries drop him even further?

What?

Detroit?

Are you ****ing serious?

All three quarterbacks on the roster ended up on IR because of the sieve up front.

If they pick a gimp like Bowers with Suh, Van den Bosch, Cliff Avril and Turk McBride, among their front seven, they deserve the "worst NFL franchise in the world" award.

I mean, seriously - WTF?

Their main needs are OT, DE, and LB...And if Bowers fell he would be the BPA at a position of need assuming Tyron Smith is gone

My thinking as well which is why we really need to medically investigate this guy.

Excellent point but you would hate to pass on a guy that ends up being a beast especially if you didn't thoroughly medically check him inside and out:thumb: That's my point.

Even without the injury concerns he is a player you better do all your homework on or he could make you look like a fool.

There is a long list of players that didnt do shit till a payday was looming and that trend tends to continue in their pro career.

This specific player could bust out for multiple reasons early in his career and spending too much of the owners money on him could get you fired.

I'd be more surprised to see him go before our pick than after it.

ToxSocks 04-18-2011 10:02 AM

I think he'll be picked up in the mid to late teens.

HotRoute 04-19-2011 12:06 PM

He will probably be selected in the 13-18 range
