One AFC scout tells NFL Network's Albert Breer that Matt Cassel is "playing scared" this season.
"Doesn't trust his line. He's a game manager and is struggling to do that job," said the scout. "Teams are trying to stop the run, in order to force him to try and be more than he is. He needs a clean pocket." Cassel is on pace for a whopping 40 turnovers this season. Maybe Im qualified to be a scout, and I only see the games on TV, but Ive thought that Matt has played scared ever since he came to KC. Even when he has protection, if his first read is covered, it's over.

Obviously, it's the line's fault he sucks.

You know if we could combine Cassel's ability to stick around, with Quinn's arm, Green's ability to scan the field, Thigpen's ability to scramble and Croyle's wife we'd have a pretty good QB.
